CHARACTER: Abigail Williams
POINT OF INTERVENTION: Act 1: Scene 2- After she stabs herself with the needle
IMAGINED CONTEXT: By the shed
Ahh, gee, damn! Why does he have to be so ignorant! I am only in my youth, yet he chooses to love his wife over my love. He loves me, he knows me! I have been robbed of my innocence because he cannot accept the fact that his heart longs for mine. My parent’s desires would want my days to be long and happy, curse the Indians that bludgeoned my parents to death! I have been left to fend for my wellbeing and I will fight for my happiness and freedom, I will not let Elizabeth Proctor stand in my way.
How could John speak as though he were against me? Unless he is against me? Then why would he come all the way to town? Surely not for any other reason but to see me of course. Oh losing him would kill my soul and I would have no purpose to live. But he seems not to care one bit for me- he pushed me away in the woods and turned against me as if I was a cold blooded murderer. I haven’t killed anyone with my hands, I merely said a couple of words and the judge did something about it. John wants me to stop the witch case, but this is my only chance to become Goody Proctor. …show more content…
The government is crumbling at my feet like a young child who longs for his mother, except the government wants what they think is justice and truth for the people of Salem. Justice and truth, there is no such thing in Salem, only false justice and truth which were made on a lie from my mouth. The people of Salem have been misguided by an adolescent whose one desire is to be with the one she loves, John
