My Career is Police Dog Handler. A Police Dog Handler, or K-9 Unit, is a unit in the police force that does specialized police work. They track down suspects, search for missing people, illegal drugs, explosives, and stop a crime in progress. I plan to be in the force after I graduate collage, but before I become a K-9 officer I must be a patrol officer for 3 to 4 years and volunteer on my days off, and have a good home with a fence around my yard and a good dog owner. After I leave the Academy I will be a patrol officer in Mccomb, MS before going to Magnolia, MS to be in the K-9 Division. The main reason I chose this career is that the crime rate and drug use in Mississippi is increasing, not just that but more guns are on the street and more…
Ever wanted to ride a 1200 pound animal at 40 mph dodging poles with only a piece of metal and a couple straps of leather to control it? I have been running poles for more than three years and all my lessons and clinics had something in common. There was constantly the same advice being given. The best part of running a pole pattern is that you can constantly improve. The pattern always stays the same, 6 poles set down the middle of the arena, all 21 feet apart, you must run all the way down, turn the last pole, weave back towards gate and then the opposite way, then you let your horse run back.…
This charity saves lives by showing their patients, either dog or human, that they are still loved no matter how lonely. Nonprofit charities are groups of devoted people and generous donators working together for the same cause. The Freedom Service Dogs of America is a foundation full of great people willing to donate their time for an amazing charitable body. Founded in 1987 by Michael and PJ Roche, the brothers strive for redemption of abandoned dogs and help for disabled people. Michael and PJ's idea was to rescue dogs and professionally train them for disabled people to make both the dog and person less lonely. Their charity saves about one-hundred dogs a year and have graduated three-hundred and fifty clients with their newly trained dogs. Freedom Service Dogs of America is an outstanding charity which Veterans Memorial Middle School should donate their earrings to because the foundation donates a hundred percent of their donations to their charity, enhance the life of their clients and provide lifetime support for suffering dogs.…
Do you think that service dog trainers should be able to keep their dogs? Well, I do. I think this because a dog shouldn’t be used just for work they should get love and affection just like any other animal. But, some people may think different for many reasons. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but mine is that if the trainers want the dogs, they should be able to keep them.…

Bureau of Labor Statistics, 91% of vet techs work in the veterinary services industry at: Private clinics, laboratories, animal hospitals, boarding kennels, animal shelters, rescue leagues, and zoos. Veterinary technicians, commonly known as veterinary technicians, provide care and comfort to sick or injured animals. They work with veterinarians or scientists in a way that is similar to the help a nurse gives to a doctor. Many people become attracted to this occupation because of a love of animals, but there is a downside, both physically and emotionally. Animals may bite, scratch or otherwise injure veterinary technicians who are caring for them. There is an emotional toll that comes from seeing the results of abuse or abandonment, and from having to euthanize ill or injured animals.…

As a freshman in college veterinarian school seems like a daunting and almost impossible task. Many upperclassmen I’ve talked to have told me that to get into veterinary school you must have a 4.0. With all this being said I’ve also met colleagues who had a 4.0 and yet their application was rejected. After searching for the million dollar question of “ What I can do to increase my chances of getting accepted into a veterinarian college” I stumbled across the website avma.org. Avma stands for American Veterinary Medical Association, its mission is to be an advocate for it’s 88,000 veterinarians members and to unite and improve the veterinary profession as a whole. This website was the golden answer to all of my questions, in the article “ Veterinary School Admission 101” it contains a list of steps, tips, and insider tricks that are aimed at giving you the best chance possible of being accepted into Veterinarian School. As a small animal science major and one of the thousands of undergraduates applying to veterinarian school, I want my…

Canine trainers must develop patience for as it may look like it could be easy, it could take many classes for the canine to learn the desired behavior. As a matter of fact, most canine trainers are indeed self-employed, but others could work for a head trainer, or in a pet store’s obedience training program. Canine trainers could also be hired by animal shelters, veterinary clinics, or boarding kennels. Yet, being a canine trainer, help is always needed. Some may come with more experience or even a different outlook on things that could help you in the long run or you could gain more knowledge. Those who tend to become a canine trainer are permitted to specialize in obedience, behavioral modification, aggression management, therapy or service dog training, agility, show dog handling, puppy training, trick training, and a variety of other…
Aside from teaching your dog, it would be better if you also send him to a dog obedience school. Why? That way the pet will have time for socialization with other dogs and with his trainer, and socialization is also needed in molding a dog's behavior. Dogs are similar with children…
The educational requirements for this profession, of course, varies depending on where you are employed and how detailed your position is. You can perform this job with minimal education of only a Personal Trainer Certification, however, it would be at the beginners’ level. Many employers, however, prefer their trainers to have a degree in exercise science, physical education, or kinesiology or a related fitness field. Typically employers expect certification along with practical experience and formal education. (Career Cruising). A personal trainer certainly obtains a core of their experience through hands-on experience as well as their anatomy knowledge through their college education of 4 years. There are many universities now that offer personal trainer courses. The education costs vary depending on how in depth you wish to pursue your education. You can do certification courses, online courses, and actual college courses. (Livestrong). You will need to have good people skills as well as being extremely physically fit.
