An Assistant in Nursing is someone who offers support services to enrolled and registered nurses.They help in ensuring the needs of the patients in a healthcare institution are met.They are also considered an intermediary between the nurses and patients.It is a great career for those people who enjoy being caregivers.
To become an assistant in nursing, you have to understand the expected daily duties which include: Cleaning the patients and their linens.Feeding those unable to feed themselves.Dressing the wounds of the patients.Ensuring a hygienic infection free environment.Help with the basic needs of patients.

In addition to the duties involved in being an assistant in nursing, it is important to have various skills.An assistant in nursing interacts with patients and the medical staff, so they need to have excellent communication skills.They might need to assist patients with toileting and bathing functions; therefore, they need to be compassionate and discrete.If you are squeamish around bodily fluids and blood this is not the best career for you.You need to be strong enough since the job requires you to be on your feet for several hours.The best assistant in nursing is usually patient, observant and good in following instructions.Healthcare system is a sensitive career, and it needs people who do not make mistakes.
