Part I. Country Background: Georgia is a country located on the eastern part of the Black Sea, next to Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia. The size of the country is 69,799 square miles and holds a population of 4,935,880 (globalEDGE). The country 's political system is a republic ran by both the President Giorgi Margvelashvili and the Prime Minister Irakli Aribashvili. The form of law in Georgia is civil law and the political party currently in power is the Georgia Dream, which was recently established in 2013 when President Margvelashvili was elected. Georgia has a mixed economic system in which the economy includes a variety of private freedom, combined with centralized economic planning and government regulation (globalEDGE). Georgia is well known for their natural resources, which include oil deposits, hydropower, timber, iron ore, copper, and manganese deposits. Also, the soil and coastal climate are perfect for growing tea and citrus. Georgia takes advantage of their natural resources and export products like ferro-alloys, gold, scrap metal, copper ores, nuts, fertilizers and vehicles. The main countries they export to are their neighboring countries like Azerbaijan, Armenia, Ukraine, Turkey, and Russia (globalEDGE). Also, Georgia recently signed a trade agreement with the European Union (E.U.) in June of 2014 and now they will be able to trade with the 28 members of the E.U. without any restrictions or tariffs (Cilvil.GE). This will improve the economy in the nation by creating an easier and faster way to trade their goods and services. The Georgians are also known for their vineyards which is a primary export of the country. Their wine also has a great reputation which keeps their demand consistent. Georgia like lots of other countries in the E.U. imports a lot of goods like pharmaceuticals, machinery and parts, fuels, vehicles, and grains and other foods. The
