In 21 years I strongly believe High School for American students will be extremely different compared to what I know as a junior in High School today. I think as China, Japan, India and many other countries begin to take steps toward a more advanced education American education systems will be forced to change or risk being surpassed by foreign countries.
American education as I know it now as a student compared to when I’m 38 years old will be extremely different. I think that as America attempts to keep pace with other countries advancement in education teachers, students, and administrators will be forced to forget the national standard of education and adapt to a global standard of education being pioneered by countries such as Japan, China, India, and other countries looking to take steps towards brighter futures for their younger generations.
Although I believe the education system will be different when the class of 2035 graduates I do not feel it will be vastly different. I predict that students will still attend class every day at their chosen High School. I think the most pressure will be on the teachers to keep up a high standard of education and motivating their students to meet those standards.
As for a change in curriculum and specifically what students will be reading in literature classes and summer reading lists will have some change but not drastic changes. I feel that classic authors such as Shakespeare or Mark Twain will remain. At the same time I think new authors from countries whose education system is leading the advancement of education change around the globe will be seen more on reading list of High School students in America.
Personally I think the change in education from a national standard to a global standard is in the best interests of American students. I think teachers would need to be groomed for this change beginning immediately in order to keep up with other countries growing education systems. I honestly couldn’t see myself being a teacher in the system I have described. The most pressure will be on the teachers to have their students meet global standards. I wouldn’t want that kind of pressure as well as I’m don’t believe I would enjoy teaching. One thing I do believe is that teachers capable of meeting these standards will be difficult to find and therefore I think teachers should and will be paid far more than they are now.
If this change in education does happen in the next 21 years I strongly believe it will be for the better of the younger generations of America and the world. A higher standard of education can only lead to more success because the people who meet the standard will be ready for the outside world in any country they may choose.

Every student should receive an individualized education and that should be the end goal.
