Instructions:

In this activity you will use the features learned in the lecture. Do each of the steps listed below to complete the activity.

Most colleges and universities require a student to explain why they want to attend a particular school and why the school should accept them. Use the Equity Letter template to write a letter to a college/university you would like to attend. If any of this information does not apply to you, use your imagination and make it up. 1. Write two or three paragraphs and include the following information: a. Where are you attending high school and when you will graduate? b. In what school year do you want to enroll at the college/university? c. What are your higher education goals? In what degree are you interested? d. What kind of job or work do you want to do after you graduate from college? e. Why you are interested in attending that particular college/university? f. Name some classes have you taken in high school to prepare you for college g. What activities (sports, clubs, charity organizations, etc…) have you been involved in that show something about your character?

At the end of the letter, before the closing, ask the college to send you information and applications.
Follow these guidelines: 1. In the Date content control, type over the default date format and type the full date using the month name, day and four digit year. Example: June 5, 2009 2. Put your real name in place of the sender company name 3. Enter your address 4. Put the name of the college/university to whom you are sending the letter in the Type the recipient name content control 5. Type the recipient address 6. Bold the name of the college/university 7. Enter the salutation, “Dear Mr. Gonzalez,” 8. Un-bold the salutation 9. Enter the body of the letter according to the guidelines listed towards the beginning of these instructions 10.
