20 October 2012 Man versus Man: The Fight “The Most Dangerous Game” is a story that tells about the passion of hunting and what extent people will go with it. In this story there is a man versus man conflict between the two main characters, Rainsford and General Zaroff. Rainsford and General Zaroff disagree on many topics of hunting which leads to a bigger hunt. In ,“ The Most Dangerous Game” the conflict that is shown the most is man versus man conflict. The man versus man conflict is shown between Rainsford and General Zaroff about the certain disagreements they had. As General Zaroff is talking to Rainsford he says, “Tonight, we will hunt—you and I.” Rainsford shook his head. “No, General, I will not hunt” (l. 67). During this conversation the conflict begins between General Zaroff and Rainsford about their views on hunting. In the beginning of the story, Rainsford is intrigued with General Zaroff because of the General’s knowledge about a greater animal that no one has hunted. Rainsford at first does not believe what the General is saying. “Why should I not be serious? I am speaking of hunting,” says General Zaroff. Rainsford then replies and says, “Hunting? Good God, General Zaroff, what you speak of is murder.” This is a man versus man conflict between Rainsford and General

Zaroff because both characters have an argument or disagreement with one another throughout the whole story. A couple of weeks ago, my sister and I went to the movie theater. After we had arrived we noticed that the movie we had originally picked was not being shown in this certain movie theatre. Just like Rainsford and General Zaroff my sister and I argued back and forth about what movie to watch. After some time my mother got very annoyed at both of us and said that if we did not choose a movie we would go back home. It was a long time before we finally reached a decision. That
