1.1 individuals who suffer from Incontinence can lose there self-esteem and confidence and even withdraw from their day to day activities,friends and family. The fear of being found out can make an individual feel ashamed of their condition. If the individuals try to hide it and not seek help or excpet it can lead to infection such as u.t.i, sore areas around the intimate parts.
1.2 Some common causes of difficulties with continence are urine infections over or under active bladder aging enlarged prostrate bladder cancer bladder stones
1.3 It may be that an individual’s values and beliefs will lead them to request clinical procedures which others may feel are not in their best interests. It may also be the case that they will refuse treatment which will greatly benefit them. Modesty is greatly valued in some religions and cultures which must be taken into consideration when caring for any individual.
1.4 By getting the individual to participate and become individual in their own care will enable them to maintain their own privacy. We can do this by giving them access to information about continence equipment recommended for them and agreeing with the individual preferred times and places for using the toliet facilties.
2.3 i would seek adivce if the individual has started having more frequant accidents and starting to withdraw form day to day activities by going to the team leader who can speak to a gp to get advice and possiable be reffered to the continence team
3.1 you can access infomation about the individuals continence needs from the individuals care plan and from other work collaeges in handover
4.1 the individual may become distressed when they have an accident and decline any help which could lead to infection if the individual refuses requlary , they may find some of the pads uncomfortable and refuse to wear them,
