Describe An Incident In Your Life That
Describe an incident in your life that changed your perspective of life:

“Rise and Shine, Jimmy!” A faint voice was ringing in a distance. And then… somebody started shaking me! Was it real? What was it? Actually, it was indeed real! O, yes! It was my father trying to wake me, “Wake up, Jimmy, wake up!” “Not yet, Dad. Just a few more minutes, please!” I murmured! And he went, “It’s Sunday, Jimmy, don’t you want to go hunting? Your cousins are already here! Wake up!” The mention of hunting worked like magic! “Yes, of course, Dad! How could I sleep, any more?” I jumped out of my bed! I can do anything for hunting! My biggest hobby, my passion.
I will never forget that Sunday. Well, there are events in all our lives that change us- making us wiser! This Sunday was to become one for me. Actually, I have gone through many incidents, which changed the way I think about things. But this Sunday stands out, for it taught me a huge lesson.
I remember how excited I was, on waking up at my father’s call! I hurried though things, dashed into his room and carrying shotguns and other equipment rushed to his SUV. The smell of fresh bread, eggs, and coffee was coming from the kitchen downstairs! Yummy! It was he packing the food and getting ready for a long exciting day of hunting in the desert! His phone kept ringing with calls from my uncles and cousins telling that they were waiting outside, impatiently. “Here, Jimmy, take this to the car.” my father said handing me the all the hunting gears. “With pleasure, Dad!” I replied carrying them while he himself carried a big box full of drinks and food!
And there we were, on our way heading to the desert for hunting! We made our way deep into the desert, accompanied by two other cars with relatives and friends. We moved together as a group, very thrilled as it was a bright crisp sunny day- the first day of the hunting season. It looked like this was our lucky day as we could hunt a lot of birds and were

“Today is hunting day. After breakfast we shall go hunting for rabbits.” The hunter stared down at the rifle with such love and compassion that he had forgotten all about everything that happened half a decade ago and rather reminisced about the memories held within the general idea of hunting. Those memories where he and his father would travel to a local forest where they’d hunt and bond. There would be those rare occasions where he would actually shoot the animal down and he and his family would sit down at the table and have dinner like a normal…

Jolly and delighted, I always wanted to rush to my grandfather’s house whether it was Christmas or just for some social occasion. The opportunity to sit in a warm, but serious room while being read endless amounts of factual children’s animal story books. Cautiously, I listened to him read me every book as I soaked in every word knowing his goal was for me to discover a deeper, more intelligent meaning behind each book. Understanding the elaborate life lesson of the story seemed to be the main objective, but I was four.…

The bus screeched to a stop and I quickly walked to the front, stumbling over all the backpacks. My dad was standing at the door all dressed in his camo, as I ran up my driveway I could hear him yelling. “It’s going to be a good night, I can feel it”. It was already late in my first deer hunting season and I hadn’t seen a deer yet. I was ready within minutes and jumped into the already running truck. It felt like eternity and I kept thinking I can’t do this. It was a cold, foggy, humid November night and I only had 1 more day to find a deer. It had snowed a few inches that day, and my body was starting to get cold. “Here we go, are you ready?” There is no way I’m ready, why do I feel this way I have prepared for this. It took us a few…

We finally made it do our destination, a low field full of washes and sagebrush that we locals call James’s. My father put the truck to a halt, and he raised his binoculars to his eyes. “Deer,” I heard him say. My mother and I also put our binoculars up. We saw about fifteen Does, which are female deer that we can’t shoot.…

A big event that has changed my life was when my older brother moved away to go to the navy. This changed my life cause I did not know if I was ever going to see him again. When he told me he was leaving and not going to be back for awhile i thought he was leaving because of me, I was a little brat back then so yeah and at the age i was i thought everything was my fault. The day my brother left was probably the saddest thing to ever happen because me and him would always hang out and play video games or walk around town or do something fun. I remember when we dropped him off at the airport i was clinched on to his leg and i was refusing to let go because I didn’t want him to leave. Now that i look back on it i think one of the reasons why i didn’t want him to leave is because he was kinda like my best friend/ role model so yeah and well he is my older brother and I didn’t want anything to happen to him.…

When I got to the my deer stand I was so tired, but I was determined to stay up. I knew I couldn’t go take a nap and miss the chance to shoot my first deer. Before I went my dad reminded me, “You have to be very quiet while you’re out there, in the woods so that you don’t scare the deer away,” and then he joked, “never mind make noise so that they come towards me.” I sat up in the deer stand waiting and waiting…

An event I've experienced that was life changing was when I obtained the rank of Eagle Scout from the Boy Scouts of America. It was an affirmation of years of disciplined work and study to have such a prestigious honor bestowed upon me. In scouting, I developed various moral and ethical tenants that have shaped my foundation in life. Tenants like integrity, honor, reverence, faith in God, a man's role and his responsibility to his family, and a nearly innumerable quantity of experiences growing under the leadership of the Boy Scouts of America have molded me into who I am today in my very core of being. The realization of my dream to become an Eagle Scout took 11 years to obtain, so I'm no stranger to adversity or perseverance. To my memory,…

The sky had darkened and it was getting harder to see. Anchoring the last boat, I tied one more knot to be sure it wouldn’t be pushed over from the wind and I rushed to the shed. The kids weren’t scared, although some of the younger ones were worried. “It’s okay guys,” I told them with a smile. My friend Janice told them they did great getting back as quickly as they did and chatted with them. I peeked out from a slant in the wood wall and saw a burst of sunlight break through a covering of clouds. The rain slowly turned to a drizzle before the shining sun soaked up the puddles. Today everyone got back safely, and I knew everything would turn out fine if you payed attention to…

I awoke to the slamming of the front door, remembering that it was Sunday, my dad's favorite day of the year, the first day of hunting season. I jump out of bed and stumble down the stairs waking everybody else in the house up. Looking out the window I see my dad pull away in his big red pickup truck with the sleeve of his orange hunting jacket hanging out the window. Hoping he brings home dinner, I start to make myself breakfast, I make my dad's favorite; eggs with crispy bacon. As I'm cooking breakfast I think to myself, I wished I had gotten up earlier to say bye to him, or even go out with him. It was a beautiful day to go out hunting and I had never missed the first day of the season before. It was like a tradition he and I had, we would always go out and hunt together. My dad and I had a relationship that not many fathers and daughters had; we really enjoyed spending time together doing things outside that not many people like to do. Losing my train of thought, I look down at the pan of charred eggs and sigh. Nothing went like planned today, I thought.…

Two events that have shaped my life today have been two different ones. From moving from the Hawaiian Islands to the mainland living in a landlocked state that was completely different the island surrounded by water. From the sandy beaches of Maui, to the desert heat of Las Vegas, Nevada. To the loss of my very best friend whom I grew up with. The girl who helped me to see that I had more confidence than I had believed I had. Who would make me stay up later with her because she didn't want to sleep and wanted to talk about life. These two are different in contrast, but to me, they both hold a place in shaping my life.…
