Do Zoos and Aquariums Do More Harm
Than Good
Do you enjoy going to the zoo? How about the Aquarium? Most people would say yes, but do you ever think how the animals feel? Do you ever wonder if a lion likes to live in a cage and has a scheduled time to eat? Research shows that: zoos can’t provide sufficient space; animals suffer in zoos, and animals die prematurely in zoos, surplus amounts of animals die and many other things. Zoos claim that when the animals mate and have babies they will send them back out into nature but they keep them and sometimes send them to circuses and other zoos. Aquariums are no different; they keep aquatic animals in a small glass box. Have you ever wondered why your fish died, it could have been lack of food or maybe you didn’t clean out their filter. That can happen in a big tank also. Research shows that if an animal is set into the wild from a zoo it may not survive yet wait to be fed. Although animals are harmed in zoos and aquariums it is fun to go to the zoos once in a while because I know that I will not be going into the wild to see a lion or wildebeest. It is nice to see how majestic these animals are and how each animal has a unique way it was made or the beautiful patterns on the animal.
In conclusion I just want to say next time you go to the zoo imagine it was you trapped behind the cage. Imagine others would come to the zoo once they see you take a few photographs get bored and move on to the next attraction.
