Think about bullying and young children. Do you think that bullying is more apt to happen in a public school setting or a private school setting? Do you think the setting has any effect on bullying, or is it primarily the child 's age? Reflect on a bullying incident that you are aware of. The incident can include you as the victim, the bully, or a bystander. This may even be an incident that was reported in the news of which you are aware. Alternatively, you may share an incident that occurred with your own child or a child who is close to you. How could the situation have been changed or avoided? Bullying is a forceful and aggressive behavior that a person shows towards another person to scare or intimidate someone. The private schools are more secure because tuition is paid for the children to attend school. Since parents are spending money for the children to attend the schools the staff and authority is more protective and aware of what is going on. Most of the parents are involved and bring in family lawyers to prevent bullying from taking place. In public schools children are bullied because it is free to attend school and staff members are under paid especially teachers. I have witnessed a teacher bullying a child before. The child is known to have a behavior problem and tended to always get into trouble. One day he decided not to be on good behavior and the teacher said “Well, you have been good all day you must have taken some stronger meds today?” All of the children laughed at him because the children knew he take meds for ADHD and the children knew she used his condition as a joke.
