Don’t get me started on buses
I hate buses. I really do hate buses, so much that it’s turning me insane. Just like you would get ready for your work or school, you will have to always get ready for your ten minutes of serpentine inferno. As a bus passenger for the last decade, I hardly ever get treated with the appreciation and respect I deserve as a customer. Don’t get me started on buses.
I think the government should take a more responsibility to do something about the bus timing in the country. Let me tell you why! I despise of buses. So there you are standing in the cold in the snow at a bus stop and you look at when your bus is coming and also you getting late for school, it says 8:00. So you think ok I can wait 15 minutes. 15 minutes later you look at your watch, it says 8.15but the bus is not here. You think it is around the corner. While later you look at you watch, it is 8.30 but the bus is still not here. You start to get impatient. You look at your watch and it is nearly 8.35 that’s why I hate buses.
When you are early, the bus is late. You rush to the stop, puffing like a steam train, then find yourself waiting for half an hour in the winter cold, as your nose gradually become a large red balloon and icicles hang from your ears. At last a rusty old dinosaur with your number on the front lumbers into view and pulls up at the stop in response to your frantic waving. You drag your frozen limbs on board and pay your fare, fumbling the icy coins at the driver drums his fingers on the wheel and sighs in annoyance at your pathetic slowness. The when you think things couldn't get any worse you are then ripped of with an adult fare when your only 15. As soon as the ticket is dispensed, before you can so much as grab a pole to steady yourself, the bus lurches forward with a roar, sending your bag bowling along the gangway, as you crash headlong into an elderly lady's lap, knocking out half your teeth on her shopping trolley.

London barking, Dagenham and Il ford all have buses and they are all horrendous. You know the saying "you wait ages for a bus then three come along at once", well where I live, "you wait ages for a bus then none ever come" seems more fitting. When you are early, the bus does not come. You rush to the stop, puffing like a steam train for it to never come. On several occasions I have waited and waited for a bus which never came while I see girls my age pass by in there warm, latest cars. I've had to stand around in the freezing cold for up to an hour, as my nose gradually becomes a large red balloon and icicles hang from your ears.
When the bus finally comes no apologies? So rude! Buses go to slow its bad it’s like the driver scared to drive so boring. The government needs to get more professional drives in the country to drive buses. The buses are so boring inside because there’s no entertainment like TV and music that you can listen or watch anytime you want to for free. The government has to do something about that because if theres a TV in the bus there a higher probability the would be more passengers boarding up the bus in the morning because children and teenagers like getting entertained a lot.
BUSES MAKE TO MUCH NOISE IT GETS ME ANGRY, THE GOVERNMENT NEEDS MORE IMPROVEMENT OR UPGRADES FOR THE BUSES SO IT CAN REDUCE THE NOISE PRODUCTION OF I T.
Another point about buses I hate is when you need to give up your seat to someone you don’t even know or have seen before ,its so annoying but you have to get up , london buses isnt enough for us , it needs a third deck so it can take like 70 passengers.

London, Birmingham, Manchester all has public transport and they are all horrendous. Don’t get me started on, if they are road works going on, strikes, and trains getting cancelled .The things which annoy me about public transport are, let’s take buses for example: Buses they are awful! On one December morning as you stand in the freezing cold as it rains and drip drop drip as the rain falls on you, your nose red as a tomato and your finger tips frozen as ice waiting for a bus, do you agree with me or not? As you just wait for the big bright lights to shine fiercely and to glow in the distance as you wait patiently. Trains are better but they still have negatives just like buses, with trains you just can’t even be a minute late because the train is just not going to wait, as you are running 100 miles per hour just like an athlete Usain Bolt as he runs like a cheetah and sprints cross the track.…

These interactions highlight the socioeconomic characteristics that have come to define modern society and reveal the plight of the urban poor who are the most likely candidates to consistently rely on a free of charge public transportation options such as the Charm City Circulator. This scene therefore, offers a glimpse into something far more complex than a man who smells bad getting off a bus because he was getting dirty looks. It provides a synopsis of society defining norms which permit judgement and criticism of those who are unable to help their situation but on the other hand denies access to public transportation for someone who needs it the most. In this ethnographic work, I want to display how the socioeconomic inequality of the city of Baltimore pours into its public transportation system. To do this, I will focus on the conflicts that arise from interactions between people of differing socioeconomic backgrounds and show how these conflicts typically have a clear victor who is, as logic would assume, the socioeconomically more privileged individual. Without knowing the precise income of all individuals travelling on the Charm City Circulator, I will provide three major groupings. The group occupying the highest up socioeconomic position are the white-collar residents of the city along with most people affiliated with…

My stop was in downtown, so I walked out. I was puzzled. Who were these strange people? I sensed the divide between me and the bus passengers socially, culturally, and physically. Ultimately, there was nothing in my past experience in my high school environment that could prepare me for the bus ride, which made me feel awkward and tense. I became conscious of my mannerisms and how I carried myself. For once, I felt like a stranger.…

The Toronto Transit Commission sounds like a big corporation that cares for their customers, provides valued transportation and helps everyone arrive on time; well none of those statements were true. It seems that we pay quite a lot through our taxes and fares but only receive mediocre services. I saw this ad the other day and it said “would you pay more for better TTC services” I couldn’t help but laugh at how the transit commission already acknowledges they’re horrible services and demand we pay more for most likely the same result. The TTC needs to upgrade their busing system, develop better passenger atmosphere and stop repairing the same tracks.…

    Tax On Gasoline

    • 501 Words
    • 3 Pages

Gas companies shouldn't raise their taxes based on the need for money for public transportation because many citizens who live in the U.S. use public transportation instead of buying gas. By them not having to buy gas that will cause those who don't use public transportation to be forced to pay for something that they don't use. While doing so those who use the public transportation may reap the benefits of a cheaper bus fare, cheaper gas if needed for the citizens and it may also increase the pay for the public transportation employees.…

Buses have certain schedules and rates. People commuting in this type of transportation are also respectful and care for the well being of the vehicles and other passengers. In my time in the United States, I have used the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) in several ocations and I am impressed by how smoothly it works. From buying a pass using your mobile phone or a machine in the station, to looking up routes online and knowing that the time they display are going to be almost the same as the real travelling times. This type of public transportation is very safe and reliable.…

These early mornings don’t only affect us as students but they also affect the bus drivers. Bus drivers also have to wake up early only they have to get up way earlier than us. If bus drivers are sleepy in the mornings when they drive the kids to school, they are putting not only their lives in danger but also the kids on the bus. Falling asleep behind the wheel could cause an accident causing kids to get hurt or even lose their lives. This is a serious issue the school board should put in consideration.…

    Common Courtesy

Common courtesy is likely seen as less and less of a social norm in public nowadays. With the hussle and bussle of city buses there is no exception for the lack of courtesy given in small moving transportation. Priority seating has become mandatory in some states in the US and more and more public transit representatives must stress the importance of common courtesy to all generations of public transit users. Common courtesy on public transit is seen as giving up one 's seat for another in need, by doing so the one in need can safely use transit without the worry of having to stand on moving transportation which could result in injuries.…

Once we got to the last step, we could feel everybody’s eyes burning at us. Three rows from the bus door there was an empty seat next to a student. I attempted to sit there, and the student took his back pack, and put it on the seat next to him. I just kept walking. My sister was also trying to sit next to another student; that student also put her bag pack on the seat next to her. One student after another placed their pack backs on the seats next to them. With my eyes full of tears, I looked at my sister with shock. She held my hand very tight, and I felt she might break it. To make matters worse one of the students shouted, “Aren’t you supposed to ride a camel, not a bus?”…

I think everyone would agree with me that the local government should do something about those unreliable bus services. Here is the reason why I, and possible a lot of other people despise buses. So there you are waiting at a bus stop in the cold and it’s raining and you know exactly that you’re on time, waiting to be rescued from this terrible cold weather, but wait! You look at when your bus is coming; it says 7:55 am. So you say oh well only 5 minutes late. 10 minutes later you look at your watch, it says 8:10am but there is no sign of a bus. Obviously you will be standing there looking straight ahead, looking at the direction it normally comes from, you think it is around the corner. Meanwhile you still stand there, looking at your watch, it is 8:20 but the bus is still not here. As every other human being you start to get impatient especially as your standing in the cold and don’t forget it’s raining. You look at your watch and it is nearly 8:25 but the bus is still not here! Then you check when the next bus will normally arrive, then the next thing you see is your bus finally arriving but in pairs. So as usual when your bus arrives ‘super galactic’ late, they then usual arrive in pairs, now isn’t that hilarious? Also some are not in service and some just drive past you like you were never there.…

Let me deal with first positive side of smoking. First, many people like to smoke before exams or when they are relaxing with friends. A further point is that the government throughout the world make huge profits from levying taxes on cigarettes. This provides funds which are used for building schools, hospitals and other public amenities. The tobacco industry also employs tens of thousands of people throughout the world, particularly in countries like Zimbabwe and India. Without cigarettes these people would have no jobs.…
