Since Roberto Nevilis introduced it to the world as a punishment in 1905, there have been many arguments to whether or not homework should be required. What initially started as punishment for kids who messed around in class has become a mandatory task that all students are required to do daily. I’m here to end that, I intend to show you that students should not be required to complete homework for a grade. Homework consumes too much time and leaves no space for extracurricular activities and causes health problems. On top of that, many students don’t even have the resources required to complete the homework. Despite these things, homework is still a graded assignment that if failed to complete, can drastically bring down a student's grade.…

After a long day in school, two hours of swimming, and an hour of playing on an instrument, dinner time hits and we drown in homework. Seven hours of school alone is draining for a daily life of a student. On our way home we carry the weight of our backpacks as if we are carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders. Piling homework will only encourage students to put it off. All students procrastinate because they feel overwhelmed with the workload. It feels daunting to start work which is why homework can even lead to cheating which leads to poor study habits. Being prone to cheating and having an insufficient amount of study habits will only lead to a fixed mindset.…

Macbeth is not an obscure play. The course of the action, unlike that of Hamlet, can easily be summarized. Most readers and audiences can come to some general agreement on what the play is about, provided that they can offer answers to the two major questions of understanding that the play poses. These answers, it need hardly be said, cannot be precise and absolute, since Shakespeare 's plays, like life, never allow us the delusion of perfect understanding. Nevertheless, we do need to decide what we are invited to think and feel about Macbeth and what he does. In particular, we have to consider why he acts as he does; why, in the first place, he kills Duncan, and then why, acting as he does, he can still attract our interest, sympathy, even admiration. The answer to the first of these questions appears to be the easier, but is in fact the more difficult. I shall argue that in the end, the answer to both questions is the same: he acts, and we respond, because we recognize in him and in ourselves an all too human, ordinary fallibility. He is neither the puppet of evil forces that some critics would make him, nor the inhuman monster that Malcolm 's final dismissal of him as "this dead butcher" would suggest. The quick but not very helpful answer to why Macbeth murders Duncan is to say that he does it because of ambition. This is only another way of saying that he wants to be King, a desire not in itself disastrous; the real question is why he believes he must commit a murder to be so, and how, knowing all the time that his action is morally indefensible, he can believe there is any sense in which he is justified. No doubt it would be easier for us (and for him) to accept his crime, if it could be felt that some external, irresistible power of evil compelled him to the deed, but that solace is withheld, even though there are some such suggestions: the witches perhaps, or even Lady Macbeth herself, as an agent…

Homework is an important part of the learning process in middle school. One reason is that homework gives students additional practice of skills covered in class. Middle school classes are too short to teach a new concept and practice it sufficiently for students to master. Students need both guided practice in class and independent practice at home. Another reason for homework is that it provides time to complete longer assignments. For example, the ideal composition process allows time for students to think and to reflect on their ideas, as well as time to revise and to proofread their writing. Also, reports and special projects often require research that can not always be done at school. In addition, since all students do not work at the same speed, giving students time at home to finish work keeps them from falling behind. Finally, the most important reason for homework is that it ensures review. New material and old material are practiced in daily assignments. Students who do their homework daily are prepared for tests and make better grades. In conclusion, not only is homework essential to mastering new skills and maintaining previously learned skills, but it also guarantees constant review and provides time for longer assignments, as well as additional time for students who need it. Students, do your daily homework, make better grades, and learn more!…
