Gospel Presentation

Background Information:
The young lady I intend to present the gospel to her name is Hee KyungLee. We have recently became neighbors. She is 35 and from Korea she lived in South Korea until she was 20 where she came to the states to live. Hee’s religious beliefs prior to coming to America was of
Buddhism. At this time she is searching for answers to her questions about God.
Elements of Communication:
Presenting the gospel to Hee I ask her a question “If you were standing in front of God right now and He ask, “Why should I let you into my Heaven?”[1] What would you say? Hee said she did not know how she would answer such a question. I opened my Bible to John 3:16 where it says “For God so loved this world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” God’s main purpose for us is to give us eternal life. This is a free gift from God to us. (Romans 6:23) He tells us in John 10:10 that he came to give us eternal life She ask how does she obtain this eternal life. My response was you have to repent of all your sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.
Cultural Systems:
Hee’s cultural background are of the Buddhism faith. “Buddhist believe in moral philosophy, an ethical way to live for the here and now of this world. Buddha focused his beliefs on practical ways to end suffering. He did not rule out the existence of a God or Gods, and shortly after his death a devotional element formed with Buddhism.”

She claimed that she was very often visited by hideous devils who” cried upon her with great threatings and bade her she should forsake her Christendom, her faith and deny her God, his Mother, and all the saints in Heaven, her good works and all good virtues, her father, her mother and all her friends.” She behaved very strange and she “would bite herself and tear her skin on her body” as if she was possessed by demons. After she had a first vision of Jesus Christ, she recovered and decided to devote her life to God and to be His servant. At the age of forty, after the birth of her last child, she started her own business as a brewer. However, three or four years later, she lost her wealth because she did not have experience in brewing and she did not want to leave her pride for her husband let alone anyone else. Nevertheless, in the end, she asked her husband to forgive her and said that God probably punished her because of her previous behavior and that the pride was the cause of her failure. After the failure of her brewing business, she realized that she should turn away from this world and completely devote to God. In order to accomplish that, she decided to make a vow of chastity with her husband. In the beginning, her husband did not want to accept that decision and said that she was a bad wife. They went in the direction of Bridlington and while they were praying, he said that he…

The overarching goal of the Christian church is to model a Kingdom lifestyle and in so doing facilitate a change in the world towards a lifestyle approved of God. That goal is accomplished by (1) being in the world, but not of the world, (2) being one and (3) using Kingdom methodology to achieve God’s objectives. But achieving the goal using that strategy is made difficult when it must be done in the midst of competing lifestyles. Especially when there is a desire to fit in rather than being ‘peculiar’.…
