From the same article Top 25 Causes of Car Accidents, Pines also tells, “Drunk driving is when you drink, you lose the ability to focus and function properly and driving under influence of alcohol causes car accidents everyday even when they are the top causes that can be avoided.” It’s a genuine statement since around the world, accidents related to drunk driving happens every day, but mostly, because of teen drunk drivers. Pines’ faithful sayings even state, “There are many ways that you can prevent drunken driving accidents. For instance, something as simple as a designated driver saves people from car accidents. By putting a sober person behind the wheel, everyone can feel free to have a good time at the bar without putting anyone’s life at risk on the road.” According to this state, I believe we can stop drunk driving since it is a situation all over the world. Drinking and driving is a gift put on earth by the almighty God. I mean why wouldn’t it be possible if he didn’t want us to do it? Alcohol is the greatest past time in Earth’s history. What’s not great about it? It can lead to vomiting, passing out, waking up in random people’s beds, and sometimes even death. Isn’t that four of the greatest feelings in the world? The death part mostly comes from the beautiful cause of drinking and driving. But don’t listen to what statistics say, keep doing it, because you know what they say, “Practice makes perfect.” There’s nothing better than getting into a car after fifteen beers and running head on into a tree and killing yourself. Unfortunately, the general population or I like the thought of someone getting behind the wheel under the influence and taking the lives of the innocent. So I’ve came up with a modest proposal to put an end to drinking and driving.…

There are countless facts and statistics on the dangers of drinking and driving and the effect it has had and is continuing to have on society. Drunk driving is blight on our civilization. “An average of 17,000 individuals die each year in drunk driving related deaths” (Injury Prevention). The fact that there are so many alcohol related deaths is beyond me. Someone’s life should not be taken due to the carelessness and irresponsibility of another human being If someone is going to consume more alcohol than the legal limit then they should not be anywhere near any working motorized vehicle. Not only for the safety of those around them, but also for the safety of the intoxicated person themselves. Drunk driving is an enormous public safety issue, which can cause more deaths around the world. “The highest drunk driving rates are from the ages 18 to 25” (Top). Considering the legal drinking age is set at 21, there should be no reason why there is alcohol related accidents caused by those under the age of 21. Alcohol can cause adolescents under the influence to drive more aggressively and thus more dangerous. Alcohol slows down their reaction time and causes them to be less likely to prevent…

Drunk driving is a primary cause of fatalities on the road, and any measures should be taken to stop it. Alcohol abuse takes more lives every year than any other controlled substance, legal or illegal. The funds used to prosecute other drugs should be halted and used to enforce more stringent alcohol rehabilitation programs. Alcohol should be taxed more heavily to pay for these programs, as well. Over 10,000 people are killed every year by drunk drivers, and many more are injured. This needs to stop.…

Drinking and driving has been a problem in the United States for what seems like forever. According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving, driving while intoxicated is “the crime most frequently committed by a non-criminal,” (DWIfacts.net). It seems at least once a week there is a story in the news about someone leaving the bar drunk and never making it home. What if those people made a different choice? What if they chose, or chose to be a designated driver? Their stories would have ended much differently. There are hundreds of reasons to make the right decision and be the designated driver. For one, it is fun to be the voice of reason and the morning-after- story-teller. Also, it keeps the driver and driver’s friends out of trouble, and choosing to stay sober and drive keeps everyone safe.…
