As practitioners we need to make sure we work together. This will have a positive impact on the children’s/young people’s health, development and learning. In order to achieve the best for children/young people the 5 possible outcomes need to be put in to action. The Every Child Matters is a part of the government framework in England which states these. The outcomes state that practitioners should be working together to offer the best for children/young people. In order to improve outcomes for children’s developments and learning different professionals are needed to work together. Sometimes certain records/observations may need to be shared with a professional people. This could be social services which A child’s records would need to be passed on or a speech therapist which A child’s observations would need to be passed on. The EYFS is very important in a child’s development. There are 4 important themes put into which need to be put into practice. We need to make sure that the practice is inclusive. Inclusive practice is very important n the EYFS as this means all children’s needs are valued. This means they are able to access the curriculum of the setting they are in. All children in the setting should be accepted and welcomed. This may mean adapting things so every child can be included and join in with everything. This could be using a multi-agency in order for a child with sight impairment to be able to participate as much as everybody else.…

Multi-agency is important because it helps someone, a family or a school become more settled and they will be receiving the help that they need. There are many multi-agencies that can give them that help including: Social workers, who are there for children when parents are ill or disabled, Home carers, who are there to help out with shopping and tidying, physiotherapists, who are there to help people struggling with limbs e.g. if a parent is struggling to walk because of their legs then a physiotherapist will go round to their house and help them to walk again as much as they can.…

) Multi agency working helps to protect children and young people from harm. It is important to work with other agencies such as Health Visitors, Social Workers, Speech Therapists and Teachers to ensure that all needs of a child are met. Childminders work within the Every Child Matters Framework which states that a child should be healthy, safe, enjoy & achieve, make a positive contribution and achieve economic well-being. The EYFS says that all professionals must work together for the best outcomes for the child. If a Childminder realises that the child’s speech and language is delayed they may be referred to a Speech Therapist who will then work together with the Childminder and parents to help the child. The EYFS states the every child is unique and as such should be able to access all areas of the curriculum of the setting they are in, they should be made to feel welcome and accepted into the setting. An example of how important multi agency working is, would be the death of Victoria Climbe, it prompted a large and thorough review of child protection services which highlighted the importance of multi agency working and information sharing. Victoria Climbe was an eight year old girl who suffered child abuse which led to her death in year 2000, Victoria was tortured, starved, had cigarette burns, repeated beatings with bike chains and belt buckles and had hammer blows on her toes. She had 128 separate injuries to her body when she died. Many services were involved in her case such as social workers, child protection officers, police, doctors and nurses. Through lack of communication and people not doing their job properly services missed the chance to intervene.…
