Threats ISIS poses on the US

They aren't just threatening they are also following through have killed multiple americans

Are known to be even more extreme than al qaeda if isis isn't killed and destroyed it will only recruit more and become stronger

Isis could attack in revenge if U.S does anything

We still have not detected direct potting towards the U.S. ISIS hasn’t made a direct threat towards the U.S. other than the brutal murders. The ground troops should not come from the U.S but ground troops are necessary. The ground troops should come from the places that are the most threatened by ISIS. We have no threat yet.

Hello, this is a letter concerning troops being put into Iraq and Syria to fight ISIS. We have proven to ourselves in the past that this is not an easy job. We will not be able to go in there and wipe the terrorists out with ease. For instance, during the war on Al Qaeda we sent over 806 billion dollars and have had troops deployed for 12 years. We didn’t plan on being in Iraq and Afghanistan for that many years but the Taliban weren’t easy to take down. ISIS has proven to be even more organized, powerful, and more secretive than the Taliban and Al Qaeda. They have taken over large parts of Iraq and Syria in a matter of months and have spread into other countries. It will be a large expense to put ground troops into both countries and maybe more if they spread. We will also waste a lot more money if we send ground troops in. Continuing airstrikes would be more reasonably cost wise and would decrease the loss in life. In the 12 years we fought the Taliban we lost 6,639 troops, mostly ground troops. If we go into Iraq and Syria with ground troops like we did with the Taliban we will lose more troops than necessary. There have only been 2 Americans killed so far and sending

This article was published in Scientific America in the year 2014. The article is intended for those who seek an interest in the military and ISIS. Evidence that supports this is when Zittrain wrote, “ISIS staged a parade with its new weapons and deployed them… The U.S. began conducting air strikes and rearming the Kurds to even the score against its own weaponry.” (926) Using this in the beginning of his article helps the readers gain a better understanding of what the article will be about, making it easier to be…

In Kathleen J. McInnis’s 24 August 2016, Congressional Research Service report, she states that Secretary Carter announced that the Defense Department would deploy an Expeditionary Targeting Force of 200 Soldiers to Iraq. The report goes on to state that it’s believed the ETF will conduct raids and collect intelligence, although its actual mission is classified. These “Boots on the Ground” missions are conducted by U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) and are more appropriate in when an airstrike would cause unacceptable collateral damage or when operating in an area the U.S. government doesn’t wish to officially acknowledge. In the 31 March 2016 Inspector General for Overseas Contingency Operations’ report on Operation INHERENT RESOLVE to Congress, the lead inspector, Glenn A. Fine makes mention of Secretary Carter’s “three R’s, Raqqa, Ramadi, and raids.” Given the high potential for casualties, raids are conducted only when there is a high degree of confidence in the intelligence ascertained. In his memoir, My Share of the Task, GEN Stanley McChrystal, then commander of Special Operations Forces in Iraq, touted the invaluable role of intelligence in the maturation of planning and executing raids. McChrystal lauds his intelligence analysts and how their products reduce the fog and friction of war. These raids are up-close and personal attacks that destroy terrorists’ morale while displaying the effectiveness of the Coalition. Simply put, SOF raids greatly contribute to the degradation of Da’esh’s…

Isis was founded in 1999 by Jordanian radical Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Following the invasion in Iraq in 2003, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and his group of militia, who will later be known as Isis, got plenty of notoriety in the early stages of the war in Iraq for the suicide attacks on Shia Islamic mosques, civilians, Italian soldiers fighting with the US, and Iraqi institutions. In October 2004, Al-Zarqawi's group officially pledged allegiance to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda. They then changed their name to what’s known as al-Qaeda in Iraq. Attacks by the group on civilians, Iraqi government and security forces, foreign diplomats and soldiers, and American convoys continued with roughly the same intensity. A letter sent from Al-Qaeda…

When the U.S. gets involved with other countries on war matters it only hurts our country as a whole and wastes lives. The U.S. has to stop trying to protect and bomb other countries because it's doing more harm than good for our country. The Vietnam War is a great example of when the United States shouldn't've gotten involved as quickly as they did. Stated as fact, 864,000 bombs were used in operation rolling thunder (1965-1968).…

    Why Is Obama Necessary

George W. Bush decided to find the people responsible for the attacks, but in the process, he not only sent troops to Afghanistan to look for the leader of Al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, but he also sent troops to Iraq to finish what Bush’s father never finished back in the Gulf War which was to catch Saddam Hussein. Bush achieved that but there were still American troops there even after the capture of Hussein. When Obama was elected president, one of his goals was to remove troops out Iraq and to also end the war on terror. The first troops to withdraw were the ones in Iraq, when he was was first elected in 2009, he wanted 30,000 to 50,000 troops withdrawn from Iraq by 2010 (“Withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq”). By 2011 though, all troops were withdrawn from a war that was extremely unpopular. The war on terror was still a factor that concerned American citizens, as a result when Obama became president, he sent 30,000 troops to fight in the war in Afghanistan. In May of 2011, Osama bin Laden was killed in his compound in Pakistan. After the killing, bin Laden was thrown into the Arabian Sea within 24 hours (“Death of Osama bin Laden Fast Facts”). President Obama called it “the most significant achievement to date in our nation’s effort to defeat al Qaeda. Of course after the murder of bin Laden, he withdrew troops from Afghanistan. It did of course make that group significantly weaker, but three years later, a new group started to rise, ISIS. Late in Obama’s presidency, ISIS became a powerful extremist group in the Middle East through videotaped executions and even Terrorist Attacks like the Paris, Nice, and Brussels Attacks. The United States and other countries have targeted ISIS with 8,216 airstrikes since November 16, 2015 according to the Pentagon (Fantz). The responsibility of what to do with ISIS should be up to the next president’s job due to the fact that Obama’s…

Since 2005, the Islamic group has exceeded doubling and the account of terrorism from this group has almost tripled. This growing terrorist army known as the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham, ISIS, is becoming a threat not only to the east but to the American homeland as well. While approximately ninety percent of Americans “... view ISIS as a serious threat to U.S. national security, there remains confusion over the degree to which the group directly threatens the American homeland” (Gottlieb 2). As technology advances, terrorists are able to assimilate into our systems which can become a hazard to our people. There are both immediate and long-term risks to our country, military improvements being one of them.…

SWOOSH! A gray blur fast as lightning streaks across the sky and is followed by a tremendous explosion as an ISIS stronghold is reduced to a mere hole in the ground. Another successful mission accomplished by the United States Air Force. America has the most powerful, prestigious military in the world, and ISIS’s taunting remarks will dissipate as we prove our power. ISIS has slain too many innocent civilians, attacked too many of our allies, and made too many threats to our country for America not to get involved and exterminate these Middle Eastern pests. The solution to ISIS isn’t to sit back and watch as other countries deal with them. America must unite with its allies and attack through superior firepower if we are to come out victorious.…

Another reason for the troops to be withdrawn is that the invasion of Iraq went against international law and the American constitution. Thus it has been the avowed policy of the United States not to attack another country unless attacked itself. In other words, the United States would only fight a war of defense rather than offense. The war in Iraq broke this tradition and was not sanctioned by the United Nations. The United States attempted to get United Nations support for the war, failed, and then invaded Iraq anyway. The United States should withdraw its troops and return to the world of legality as soon as possible. The invasion cannot now be undone but at least the damage can be minimized by withdrawing as soon as is realistic to do so.…

William J. Clinton an American politician, who served as the 42nd president of the United States from 1932 to 2001 once said, “In our efforts to battle terrorism and cyber attacks and biological weapons, all of us must be extremely aggressive. We must protect our people from danger and keep America safe and free.” Today, in 2016 America has many concerns. One of those concerns is Isis. Isis is a terrorist group that has tried and is trying to ruin America and Americans. Isis will do anything in their power to get into America. The only strong and reliable way to stop that it to strengthen the military force in the fight against them. We should strengthen the military force in the fight against isis for safety, to be stronger, and to have America…
