Good leaders develop through a never-ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience. To inspire your workers into higher levels of teamwork, there are certain things you must be, know, and, do. These do not come naturally, but are acquired through work and study. Good leaders are continually working and studying to improve their leadership skills; they are not resting on their success. Whether it is helping a teenage mother learn to care for her child, training an ex-convict to get a decent job, or aiding disaster victims, or nonprofits, leaders increasingly do the work required to fulfill our desire for a civil, compassionate, and well-functioning society. Like most organizations, their ability to consistently deliver these results depends more on the quality of their people than on any other single variable. Below is a summary of the articles in regards to Leadership and the values that we can all learn and maybe achieve. Successful organizations need leaders at every level, whether be CEO of a Fortune 500 company, coach of a NFL team, or manager of a local supermarket. Effective leadership builds confidence amongst the participants of an organization, in addition to acting as the catalyst for the aspects of the organization to work in tandem. Fortunately, being a leader does not require a certain title or degree. Leadership is an “attitude, not a position” (Grant et al. IHI, 2017). Everyone has probably played the game "Follow the Leader" back in elementary school. It is a game where the leader stands in front of the line. He or she can say or do anything, and her followers (standing in a straight line behind her) must repeat exactly the same thing he or she does or says. Whoever was picked to be the leader must have loved the experience because one had the freedom to do whatever they please, while others followed miserably or happily depending on what the leader is saying or doing. However, if one was the follower, one would wait anxiously to be the next chosen leader. At the same time, one must somehow express his or her self in a fashion that will make them stand out from the rest of the students. Whether he or she is perfectly imitating the leader or behaving really respectfully of others. Nonetheless, who determines who should be the leader? What kind of characteristics must a leader possessed? What makes a great leader (Robbins, 2005)? Is there only one kind leadership? These questions will be answered as you continue to read on. In addition, you will come across case studies, real life experiences, and my own observation on how leaders in my work setting exhibit leadership behavior and how followers respond to it.…

It was also evident that not everyone has the ability to master challenging tasks, takes on great levels of responsibilities and set defined goals and objectives to accomplish. Also it is not impossible that an individual can be trained to develop good leadership abilities, but in order to select that person they must have displayed some great attributes or qualities. What is leadership? Leadership is having the ability to give guidance to those that will follow. Those that follow will help to complete the mission. Leadership is an immature science and the body of knowledge in the field has developed through a series of fits and starts. Leadership is a soft science, just as anthropology, sociology and psychology. It can not be proven exactly what it is. Leadership is an art, the skillful application of leadership behaviors beyond techniques is much the same as the skillful application of brushstrokes by a master painter. Leadership is both rational and emotional. It involves both sides of human experience. It includes actions and influences based on reason and logic as well those based on inspiration and passion. Leadership is a social process shared among all members of a group. Leadership development comes through experience. We all learn from our different experiences. Whether positive or negative, they are our tools for growth and development. What is management? Management is a position of authority. Management says what need to get done and supplies the material to get it done. Management tends to be the more educated than the experienced. Managers can be trained to hold a position. Management is a position of leadership. Can leadership and management be the same? Leadership and management are not the same. Anyone can be a manager and not have any followers. Being able to manage is knowing the aspects of a mission. A leader knows the aspects, has the knowledge and the skills to accomplish the mission. But leadership and management work hand in hand with each other. The management sets the stage and the leadership makes it happen. Leadership is a human relationship process. No scientific method can be used for testing leadership. Leadership is based on human factors and no two humans are the same. Managers are not only interested in status quo, but also production, expansion and growth. Management was a system to control…
