Left-wing Politics and Chocolate Factory
The Most Important Decision of My Life We are all making choices and taking decisions in our everyday life; however, good ones lead us on the right path while bad ones bring us into the middle of nowhere. Throughout my life, the hardest decision that I’ve ever made would definitely be choosing to get a career or to continue working to earn money right away. People even said I usually make strange choices, but they are not strange for me. That moment, I knew I’ve chosen the right one. I’ve chosen the one that I wouldn’t regret in the future. The choice that made me happy and lived my life splendidly that it should supposed to be long time ago. Like many students anxious to enter the workforce, I left college after finishing my first semester which is the same time when I migrated here to United States. I was so confused back then; I was even more confused than an ant crossing the road. I’m on my adjusting point on everything. I almost forgot my name due to a lot of things to think about. Until I got the thought of, “Why do I need to get a career if I could just go get a job right away?” So I pushed my luck. With courage, I searched for a job from left to right. I almost looked under rocks just to find one. Luckily, everything was worth it when I received the precious phone call from a factory saying “I got accepted.” No words can explain how excited and happy I am after receiving the phone call that I’ve been longing and waiting for. By that time I thought it was almost perfect, a new experience almost like a new era for me. My first day went totally awesome. As I entered the factory, I saw the main production site where I will start to work on. I was like, “Man, I’m on Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory!” Surrounded by sweets, big machines and new people in my sight; I’m happy to start my first job experience in a cookie and chocolate factory. Surprisingly as I walked closer, I could even taste the warm chocolate-chip cookie by just

Life is different than what everybody thinks, they all think that life is beautiful and can give you a lot of good stuff, well it might but sometimes not. It’s actually so tough for some people. In the novel Tangerine by Edward Bloor, the choices that were made by the characters had major impacts on them. Paul struggled with himself that he did not believe in what he can do. His fear from Erik was the biggest impact that changed his life and the choices he might need to take. The choices that the characters made did not help others a lot. Paul’s choices made him gain friends that helped him be more confident in what he does.…

Everyone has a life full of choices. They have to choose between right or wrong, left or right, and up or down. Choices reflect self-discipline, as well as character. They also permanently affect one’s life, whether it be in a positive or a negative manner. Choices can also dictate whether or not someone reaches their wildest dreams. As everyone has lives full of choices, everyone has dreams. But as all things do, dreams progressively get more and more realistic with age. “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost, and “Harlem” by Langston Hughes are two well-written poems that have similar real-life themes; choices, and dreams.…

My connections look at how certain choices can affect your life forever. The texts that I used to convey this link were The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, Slumdog Millionaire directed by Danny Boyle, The Shawshank Redemption directed by Frank Darabont and a poem by Robert Frost called The Road Not Taken. Throughout the texts used we learn that you cannot always see the outcome of a particular choice unless you choose to go down that path. An important decision is made by the main character(s) in each text and they suggest that not all choices are easy to make and can have positive and negative consequences.…

When I was young not much mattered. Then I found something I cared about it was really all I wanted. Sometimes when you get an opportunity and you don’t seize it in that sliver of a moment, you miss out on something that could’ve been amazing. Life is a series of choices, and whatever you choose will affect your life. It can be a small choice like when we decide our direction and it will lead you to the destination, or it can be a bigger choice that can cause a huge event in your life. I want to tell a story about my best friend, Huy who told me that trying, practicing and learning are the keys that can open your door to success. He was just like other people, by having a bad choice, so he made a big mistake six years ago in his life that he could never forget and it also became a good lesson for him to learn how to cope with life obstacles.…

The story is called “The Sandwich Factory”. It’s about a man, who finds a work at a sandwich factory. Everyone has their own thing to do in the factory and go through the same routine every day. We only hear that they go to work, get locked in and go home again when they’re done. It’s why I’ve chosen to focus on the mechanization of human beings. It pretty much describes the world we are in today. Maybe a little too extreme but true in many ways. We, people go to work every day. Usually do some of the same things and then go home again. Many people go to work, to earn money, not because they like it. So does the guy in the story. He works with a mad kid, who shows up with a knife all the time, a woman described as a whore and a boss, who locks in the workers, if they are behind schedule and I don’t think any human would enjoy working there.…

I left school and university with my head packed full of knowledge; enough of it, anyway, to pass all the examinations that were put in my path. As a well-educated man I rather expected my work to be a piece of cake, something at which my intellect would allow me to excel without undue effort. It came as something of a shock, therefore, to encounter the world outside for the first time, and to realize that I was woefully ill-equipped, not only for the necessary business of earning a living, but, more importantly, for coping with all the new decisions which came my way, in both life and work. My first employers put it rather well: ‘You have a well-trained but empty mind,’ they told me, ‘which we will now try to fill with something useful, but don’t imagine that you will be of any real value to us for the first ten years.’ I was fortunate to have lighted upon an employer prepared to invest so much time in what was, in effect, my real education and I shall always feel guilty that I left them when the ten years were up.…
