“Please pick up the pieces of paper under your chair.”

“So, how was your New Year?”
“That’s good! Have you enjoyed your

Christmas and New Year bonding with your family?”

“That’s good to know. Well, what’s you New Year’s resolution, class?”

“Yes, ______.”

“Oh! What a nice New Year’s resolution, _____! Now let’s hear one answer from the boys.”

“Ok. _____”

“Wow! Thank you for sharing, _______. Maybe that’s enough. Let’s move on to our new lesson. For this morning, our discussion will be in relation to our feelings or emotions. Are you familiar with the song entitled The Greatest Love of All?”

“Okay, that’s good. So are you ready to sing and have fun today?”

“Good Morning, Sir”

(One student will lead the Prayer)

Loving Father, We stand before You in the midst of confusion and complexities of life. Our future sometimes seems distant and unknown. Give us, O Lord, the vision to see the path You set before us. Grant us the courage to follow Your way, that through the gifts and talents You have given us, We may bring Your life and Your love to others. We ask this through Jesus, Your Son and our Brother. Amen

(Student raise their hand and say present as the teacher call their name)

(Students pick up the pieces of paper)

Student “It was great, Sir!”

Student “Of course, Sir. It was a lot of fun!”

Motivation
Warm Up
Let us sing The Greatest Love of All. (Students sing)

“I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they posses inside
Give them a sense of pride
To make it easier
Let the children’s laughter
Reminders us how we used to be…”

“Okay, class. Now, what can you say about the song? What does the writer believe in?”

“How could you say so, Carl?”

“That was a very good explanation. (Student). You know what class, the song simply tells us that we should always consider for us to keep our family or relationship with others intact, sometimes showing affection or love towards a person, makes him feel that he is appreciated and there will be feeling of belongingness and love especially to young ones. And also as what have (Student) said, the writer believes that you, the younger generations, are the hope of our Fatherland. So, class, I want you to finish your study to accomplish the challenge that have given by our national hero.”

“Everybody had just sung very well. Give yourselves a big hand.

Student “Sir even though the song is very short; I guess it’s full of emotions.”

Student “Because Sir I noticed that the song has a lot to do with our love for children or mother to her daughter, father to his son. It has something to do with our love for our family, that’s the greatest love of all. The writer believes in what Dr. Jose Rizal said, “The youth is the hope of the fatherland.”

For sentence no. 2 Is it really an interrogative sentence?” (Student 2)

“Exactly. I think class, you made an advanced research about our lesson for today and I really like. Good job, class. Okay. Who answered sentence no.3?”

“A command sentence? Yes it expresses the concept of command or request but is not a command sentence. We will find it out later. Next, who answered no. 4?”

“Yes, you are right, Student No. 4.”

2. Do you homework now. (Command)

“Give me an example of imperative sentence from the song”

“Yes, and what kind of imperative sentence?”

“Very good! Make it a request.”

For example,

The song was later popularized by Whitney Houston under the title "Greatest Love of All". Creed wrote the lyrics in the midst of her struggle with breast cancer. This song had a deep impact on me over the spring break of 2016 when I had to face something few should ever have to go through. Over that week I decided to be the caretaker for my nonagenarian grandmother, in order to let my parents go on a well-deserved vacation. Little did I know this week would become one of the most challenging weeks of my life. When I was taking care of her she had a serious fall and broke her hip in two places. While we were in the hospital for surgery she began to have violent hallucinations due to the pain medication she was on, resulting in a delay on the surgery. In the midst of all this chaos I had “Victorious in Love” playing on repeat. The song goes on to say, “This Mountain seems so high God… And in my weakness be made strong”. This resonated with me because I was able use those lyrics to muster up the strength I needed to face the dozens of unexpected obstacles that came my way. Without this song I would not have had the courage to overcome this trying…

The feeling you have when you first look upon your new born child, the radiant warmth in your face when you say “I do” at the altar, or the divine feeling in your chest when you pray. Every one of these situations could be used to describe love. Its an emotion so richly embedded into our minds, that every single one of us can say they’ve experienced it in their lives. Some might even say they’ve molded their existence around it. However, while we are all familiar with love, the situations in which we encounter it are so diverse that the definition has become unique to the individual person. “What We Talk about When We Talk about Love” does an amazing job of forcing the reader to wonder what this feeling really means to them. What starts out as a normal conversation between four friends almost turns into a harsh debate on the elusive nature of love.…
