Technology has affected society and its surroundings in a number of ways. Tools, clothes, shelter, energy and transport are among some of the leisures that technology can provide to us. In many societies, technology has helped cultivate more advanced economies (including today's global economy) and has allowed the rise of a leisure class. People these days can’t lift a finger without the use of technology, It seems in this day and age, we are all expecting technology to do everything for us.
Do you realize if it weren't for Edison we'd be watching the television by candlelight? Speed, Clarity, Proximity and dissemination are some of the benefits that technology offers us. Being able to do anything with a click, being able to reach anywhere and being able to do stuff that’s beyond our imagination is what technology has to offer us. We can talk to anyone from all corners of the world without much work, isn’t that something awesome?, Something that the human race once would have never thought of being able to do. The human mind is being enhanced on a very high scale, people are becoming better, sharper and smarter when it comes to working.
One machine can do the work of fifty ordinary men but no machine can do the work of one extraordinary man. The remaining question becomes, ‘Do I fear less because I know more?’ Or ‘Do I fear more because I know more?’ From my point of view, we should control ourselves from misusing technology and try not to destroy mother earth and ourselves in the process of making the world a better place to live in with technology.

Anyone living today knows the effects technology has had on society today, not to mention how it’s changed our generation entirely. Our generation can hardly remember a time when technology didn’t exist. It’s become a part of our lifestyle, and isn’t going anywhere soon. “The evolution of technology has reached a point where pretty much anything is available at the touch of a button. Time was running out. Stakes were high. It was supposed to be a particular day for everyone including Miranda, a typical teenage girl. As usual, she went to school, then went home with the knowledge that an asteroid was to hit the moon later in the day. At first, nothing seemed to have happen until a noise almost like a sonic boom erupted from the sky. The moon appeared closer than ever in an eerie, unnatural sort of way. Almost suddenly, Earth was hit with tornadoes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions. Out of the many people who witnessed this event, Miranda stayed strong and fought her way through the epidemic, even through the roughest of times.…

What would I do? This is what I kept asking myself as I was reading “Life as We Knew It” by Susan Beth Pfeffer. The book follows Miranda and her family through their day-to-day struggles to survive the aftermath of a life-changing event. Astronomers miscalculate the density an asteroid that hits the moon, and it pushes the moon closer to Earth. The gravitational pull results in natural disasters that happen all over the world, not to mention grocery stores running out of food and gas going well over $10 a gallon. Although there is not a lot of action in the book, it is still compelling to read.…

Technology has been integrated into society in a more rapid fashion that it’s an evolving part of humans’ everyday lives to the point it’s relied upon. Without realising it technology has become the master, humans no longer dictate it and most either do not make a choice or are not offered one. This essay will identify how much control technology has and if that lack of choice is forced through manipulation, persuasive methods, and new evolving technologies; or if technology has exposed human frailties to cause a loss in some characteristics that define humans i.e. free will, and conclude if it is a natural evolution that technology should become the master to prolong human existence.…
