My future profession
My future profession
This is my first essay in English and its topic is “My Future Profession”. Who I want to become?
I haven’t found an exact answer to this question yet. There are a few versions. The fact that I’m studying in a building Institute does not mean that I want to be a building-construction manager. But it also doesn’t mean that I don’t want to be him. You can ask me: “In that case, why did you enter to this institute?”. I couldn’t choose and thought: “As my father is an architect, he will help me in the future in this field”. One of the professions I want to have is a computer programmer. As for me, I had decided to be a teacher, so last year I entered Irkutsk State Teacher Training University. Our University is situated in the centre of Irkutsk; it is rather small building, but very comfortable. Students say that our building is the best and it is quite easy to find different classes.

As for subjects – we have ten. They are: English practice, grammar and phonetics, Russian, Survival Science, Pedagogic science, Medicine, History, Physical Education and others. I find my subjects quite amazing because they help me to understand the way of teaching other people and to learn some more information, I have never known before.

As I’ve told before – I chose to be a teacher of English as a second language because it will be a chance to fulfill my dream of helping people to learn the foreign language. I think I possess the qualities necessary for being a good teacher. I am hard-working, kind-hearted, and broadminded. I want to devote myself to teaching different people, especially children. It will be a very challenging work for me – I will need to use all my knowledge, skills and imagination to find the right approach for every single student and make the process of studying as creative and interesting, as possible. So, I think that I have made the right choice. My first computer and friends who work in this field deeply affected to my decision. So who is computer programmer or simply programmer? This is a quote from a dictionary: “A programmer is a person whose job involves writing programs for computers”. To be a good programmer I should learn maths, logics, informatics now at my institute. Now we are living at the beginning of the Information age and I think that programming is an interesting field and one of the professions of the Future.

Everyone is asked one question, at a very young age. That question is: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” There isn’t a time I can remember when an adult didn’t ask me this question. When I was six, I would respond with the usual movie star, fashion designer, or veterinarian. My answer would be said confidently, as at this age I walked through life as if it were no big deal. My answer occasionally changed to fit with my many childhood phases, but my view on the question stayed the same. When I was a child, I replied to this inquiry the same way everyone else did; I answered with an occupation. It took me years to discover my new approach to this question. My new response did not include my dream job, but how I saw myself in the future.…

As a child, I always found myself participating in creative activities. My siblings and I were always playing make believe from acting as if we were in college or grown up to running up and down our neighborhood’s sidewalks as secret spies on a mission to save the world! When I was first introduced to writing short stories in grade school, I became hooked because I could literally depict any image I wanted to and that sparked my 7 year old brain. There were always movies playing in my head; it was crucial to me to produce those visions. Now, as a senior in high school, I have become partial to not only writing fictional narratives but non-fiction narratives as well. I have applied and been accepted to Clark Atlanta University…

I can say I have remained constant on the same job. When I grow I want to be a politician because I observe everyday things incredibly shocking in Romanian politics and I think I can solve something. Another reason would be that I have a character quite ambitious, dominant and I accustom to get involved in anything that it brings me benefits but of the others. When I get involved I don’t like to do a thing by halves, I always plan, I prepare a short presentation (speech) to help me to convince the audience. Another reason is that this job helps me to receive a salary high enough with which to invest my ideas and to set up different business because when I have free time I like to think what business I could do, what has world needs. I really like this job because I provide enough opportunities, and with other young people who think like me, I can do something good for society, can achieve a change in current policy.…
