The traditional schedule for school is outdated because in the old days, it allowed for children to help harvest crops during the summer. Now, the long summer just enables kids to be lazy and easily forget what they learned at the end of the previous school year. If a year round school year were to be implemented, kids would not be able to be as lazy and breaks would not be so long as to let kids forget a whole bunch of their school curriculum.…

In a recent study at YHS 97.1% of students would rather start school later. Students should be able to start school later when they're awake. Students will have more time to eat in the morning instead of starving all day at school. Students will come with more energy instead of being dead at school. Students attendances would improve and reckless driving wouldn't occur so often. If school started later the increase on grades and attendances would go up.…

Furthermore, I bet all of you can agree that we have a much more positive attitude towards school in the beginning of the year, than in the end. By the end of the year the majority of us are itching to get out of this school and begin our long-awaited summer vacation. Without summer vacation, there would be nothing to look forward to, therefore we would focus more on our school work and succeed all throughout the year, rather than just in the beginning. Many of you are probably thinking, you just said, “Without summer vacation, there would be nothing to look forward to,” and you expect…

Students stay up late working on homework, then are tired when they have to wake up. "Teens need at least 8.5 hours of sleep daily, and most teens don't get that". Stated the author Justin Oneil in the scope article Should School Start Later School starting later would allow more time to sleep, witch leads to better grades, and students that function quicker and would have less work later. Also not so many people would be late to school. I propose we start school just a little bit later. It would really help with our overall performance in schools.…

I think that starting the school day later would greatly benefit the students and teachers. if we started school at about say nine thirty in the morning instead of eight thirty or earlier, that would mean that most students wouldn't need to be awake in the morning till almost seven thirty to eight thirty and some kids could even wake up a little later then that depending on where they live. granite it is proven that high school students only need six to eight hours of sleep each night but there is always that few that never get the six to eight hours of sleep.…

Schools should end later. From my personal experience, I usually end school and then have hours of extra curricular activities, because I am a dancer. This limits my time that I am able to spend on homework, and causes me to stress out. Also, it forces me to go to bed later and not get enough sleep for a growing teen. If school ended earlier I would be able to finish my homework earlier and get to go to bed earlier which would enable me to then get more sleep. Finally, I would get to spend more time with family. I am always rushing home from school, right to my homework and then off to dance, and then back home for homework. I never get to talk to my family and tell them about my day.…

I think a longer school year is better for many reasons. During the long summer vacation, many kids waste time watching TV. They forget what they learned in school. I am always ready for the new school year because I only have one month off. It takes time to learn everything you need to know in order to go to college. In my opinion, if more schools replace vacation time with learning time, it will make a big difference for their students. (qtd. in Should)…

Having school year round is one of the worst things you can do to a student. Students may miss out on opportunities to spend time with other kids of different ages, miss out on their childhoods. Children with learning problems will fall way behind than other kids and their learning would be compounded. And most students will forget things no matter what therefore teachers will have to perform four beginning of the year instead of one. Kids will not have the opportunity to worry so much about school and other things like homework.…

School starting early means it’s probably going to end early as well, and that leaves time for after school activities or jobs. Getting up early for school is not good for the brain, students don’t “wake up” until 10 am; that means that students probably won’t pay attention or remember what they learned before 10 am. Also, homework and other responsibilities are very time consuming, and in order to complete all the tasks you have to make time for all of it, and the later school starts the later it ends; then students won’t have time to accomplish anything. Although many of those things are time consuming it would also be a good skill to know how to manage your time well; for example if you barely have time to do homework and chores after school it might not be a good idea to join a club or do a…

Argument One – First of all, I for one, is favoring in year round school. According to Ebsco host, “Year-Round schooling”, academic wise, year round school students have prone to do better than Traditional Calendar students. Some studies have found that during summer, learning loss is a real problem. With Year round school students wouldn’t have that problem. With a shorter summer break, students wouldn’t have to spend that much time in beginning of a new school year reviewing. Year round school calendars are much more different, you have a 45/15 model or others have a 60/20 model. Where students and teachers go to school for 45 days or 60 days then get 15 days off or 20 days off, depending on the model the school chooses.…
