Playing Sport Is Better Than Video Games-Speech
Do you prefer to play sport than video games? Not everyone agrees but recent and continuous research has shown that more than half of Australians prefer to play it because of the physical and mental health benefits and an opportunity to socialise more with new friends. Playing video games however, hardly uplifts these standards.

First of all, it’s obvious for a fact that the reason why playing sport is better than video games is because it helps us become physically stronger. Our health improves because regular physical activity develops parts of our human body. The Better Health Channel shows that playing sport regularly results improved fitness, healthy grow of bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons, and a greater ability to physically relax which includes improved sleep. Its recent statistics have shown that 57% of Australians play sport regularly for these benefits. Playing rugby for instance develops your muscles; improve speed, agility and cardiovascular fitness. Doing regular gymnastics improves your power, balance and coordination. Further research shows that 15% of Australians live sedentary lives, including playing video games. If you were one of them, sitting in front of a TV all day, playing the Xbox 360, your health will be severely affected and it can lead to serious issues like heart disease; Heart Foundation claims 1 in 6 Australians are affected by it, cancer, obesity and Type 2 diabetes from the rising calories and glucose levels that were supposed to be burnt by exercising. Research in the 1980s has shown sport being able to prevent these diseases from occurring.

Furthermore, the physical benefits of playing sport links to mental benefits. Studies of the World Health Organisation have shown that it creates a positive influence on depression and body image. The current review demonstrates that clinical long-term human studies need to be performed in an effort to provide conclusive evidence of whether physical activity can reduce or prevent the effects of depression and other mental disorders in humans.
