I. Main point #1 According to the American Heritage College Dictionary, racism has two meanings. Firstly, racism is, “The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.” Secondly, racism is, “Discrimination or prejudice based on race.” A. (First sub-point: description of problem) 1. History
Examples of the first definition abound. When slavery was practiced in the United States, blacks were not only considered inferior to whites but regarded as property instead of human beings. During the 1787 Philadelphia Convention, it was agreed that slaves were to be considered three-fifths people for purposes of taxation and representation. Generally during slavery, blacks were deemed intellectually inferior to whites. This notion persists in modern-day America. http://racerelations.about.com i. Facts: Students of colour are far

i Argument #3: Racism’s destructive capability is unparalleled, its currently ravaging the world everyone co exists in, it is corrupting the very foundations this world was forged on. The most prevalent example of racism, bigotry and animosity is the recent election of President Trump whose radical views on minorities inspired the inner hatred of thousands to rise up and vote for him. Trump builds his campaign of the misery and misfortune of others to become the leader of the so called “Free World”. Many people have different views on Mr Trump but majority of the news articles believe him to be “a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist, birther and bully who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims”…

Racism is a global problem that has existed throughout the history of mankind. Despite the different kinds of measures taken against racism including African-American Civil Rights movement, Anti-Apartheid Movement, Hate Crime Laws, or bans on any racism manifestations, it continues to be a constant concern. For some people, it is a vague concept, because it reveals itself in different forms. For others, it is simply based on unreasonable believes and hate. So racism, after all, became a label that is used for humiliation, based on hatred of the individual or even entire ethnic groups. I will try to address the problem of racism from several points of view taking into account the areas in which racism exists and manifest itself; to prove that…

Racism is the hardest one to discuss but I am doing my best to help student to discuss. Also I want to mention something , I want to change their idea about how they can discuss this kind of topic. For example, if you are a white american and you are not racist so I do not have to discuss or talk about any thing that some white people has done in their history. Even though he or she are not racist , he or she belongs to this part. By knowing how to interact with people and learning the history and discussing that in a good why without avoiding talking about it that is a tool that I want to see them using it after they pass this course.…

    Racism in America

Dictionaries are not much help in understanding what is meant by the word. They usually define it as the belief that one's own ethnic stock is superior to others, or as the belief that culture and behavior are rooted in race. When Americans speak of racism they mean a great deal more than this. Nevertheless, the dictionary definition of racism is a clue to understanding what Americans do mean. A peculiarly American meaning derives from the current dogma that all ethnic stocks are equal. Despite clear evidence to the contrary, all races have been declared to be equally talented and hard- working, and anyone who questions the dogma is thought to be not merely wrong but evil.…

The website http://archive.adl.org/hate-patrol/racism.asp defined racism as: ‘Racism is the belief that a particular race is superior or inferior to another, that a person’s social and moral traits are predetermined by his or her inborn biological characteristics’. Racism could also be defined as the hatred of one person by another - or the belief that another person is less than human - because of skin colour, language, customs, and place of birth or any factor that supposedly reveals the basic nature of that person. However http://itstopswithme.humanrights.gov.au/it-stops-with-me/what-you-say-matters/why-racism defines racism into more simple words as: Racism is ugly. It divides people into “Us” and “them” based on where they come from or the colour of their skin. And it happens when people think its okay to treat others badly as they go about with their daily lives. An example of the type of racism that happens around the world is ‘Lynching’ the website http://www.yale.edu/ynhti/curriculum/units/1979/2/79.02.04.x.html said that: In the last decades of the nineteenth century, the lynching of black people in the southern and border states became and institutionalized method used by white people to terrorize black people and maintain white supremacy. Most of the Lynching’s were by hanging or shooting, or even both. However, many were of a more hideous…
