Title: Story Of An Hour
Author: Kate Chopin

I. On The Elements / Literary Concepts The short story Story Of An Hour is all about the series of emotions that the protagonist, Mrs. Mallard showed to the readers. With the kind of plot of this short story, it actually refers to the moments that Mrs. Mallard knew that all this time, her husband was alive. For the symbol, I like the title of this short story because it actually symbolizes the "time" where Mrs. Mallard died with "joy." And with that moment, it surely is considered a story of an hour.
II. On The Meaning "Life is short." That 's why we have to cherish every moment from our life. We don 't know when will we leave this world, that’s why we should enjoy life everyday to the fullest that we can. If ever we feel doubt or alone, we should remember that we always have our friends or family to carry on. In the short story, I felt that Mrs. Mallard was afraid to be true to herself. She should have been a strong individual not only with her health, but also to the situation that she was having. We should always remember that, no matter what happens, we still have our family or friends to carry on in times of our troubles.

I. On The Elements / Literary Concepts In this short story, the feeling of suspense and terror were present. Of course, these feeling can be seen from the plot. The way Edgar Allan Poe wrote this short story gave the readers a feeling of suspense or were terrified, at one point, from the plot. Also, there 's this sound from the story that Edgar Allan used that symbolizes the conscience of the unreliable narrator - symbolism.
II. On The Meaning There are many unusual scenarios that happens in our lives. However, with these scenarios, we do not have the right to kill anyone. Just like from the story, the narrator was bugged by the eye of the man that is looking at him. And because of that, he killed the man to stop

    Poe’s use of onomatopoeia and dialogue establishes an eerie sense of suspense. Throughout the story, “The Tell-Tale Heart,” we can hear the old man’s heart go, “Thump… Thump…” With this use of onomatopoeia, and the build-up across the story, we feel a sense of apprehension when it speeds up as well as when it stops.     The sadness and unhappiness displayed by both of the married women in “A Sorrowful Woman” and “The Story of an Hour” shows that marriage does not always bring the typical ending of most fairy tales.
