Significant Life Event One event in which all involved parties can still laugh about and I believed had brought a significant change to me, and affect me still today. My closest bond I have today it is my relationship with my mother. While our mother-daughter bond has been a blessing we have had the highs and lows of love. There were times when it has been joy and moments which can only be described as maneuvering through a minefield. Most females can relate to this journey through in life. In this relationship, hearts can be broken, feelings can be hurt, and the best intentions can turn a mistake into resentment. With patience and lots of love a mother and daughter can be develop a friendship and a trusting bond strengthened for a lifetime. We both grew up in an urban area where a teenage pregnancy usually ended a person’s dreams for a better environment. We had considered ourselves adults because we now had a child of our own. But this is hindsight; we thought we had all the answers. My first love

Something in my life that I find to be significant is receiving over a million dollars in scholarships from various schools, being accepted to every school I applied to, as well as graduating from high school to be able to go to college and further my education. See in my family it is not too often that a male graduates from high school and goes to college especially with the accomplishments that I have done. Not only was I the first male in my family to graduate in the top 10% of my class, I was also the first to receive more than just a athletic or band scholarship in my family. Along with my plethora of band scholarships that I received I also received academic scholarships to go various schools and one in particular from Princeton University really caught my eye.…

In the midst of The Deparment Of Children & Families splitting us up, it made me realize I should've listened to my grandma. While growing up in the system as a teenager, it was very difficult for me. For as long as I can remember, I regret the choices I made. It could have led to something more worse than being taken away from my mother and split apart from my sibilings. Because of my unwillingness to listen to my grandma, moving back with my mother, and being taken away by the state, made me challenge my poor choices. These poor choices led me to parenthood at a young age. I did not count on continuing my education.…
