When Questioned, "Why do you not like talking about the war and things that happened back then?" Telly Robbins, a Vietnam veteran answered "I don't want my kids or wife to know of the things I had once did, I don't want them to think of me as a monster. I also do not want to relive things that happened". While he explained his feelings, fear and sadness could be heard mixed in with his voice, this sadness was egregious, even though it was almost ephemeral and could not be noticed to the hoi polloi. A man, who is a human felt as if he had become a monster because of the war, not only the war though, the things that he had done to innocent civilians', and his fellow soldiers.…
“The Witness” takes place in Miami, Florida. In this case two people were shot and killed. The victims of this homicide were twenty-eight year old Grace Armstrong and husband twenty-nine year old Adrian Johnson. They were high school sweet hearts and have been together for fifteen years. They had two sons and one daughter. Their ten year old daughter, Adriana Johnson witnessed her mother and father’s murder. Detective Rick Martinez was the lead on the double homicide. When the detectives question the daughter about what she saw, she told them she saw her dad talking to a boy. The boy gave a look and her dad slapped him. Then the boy went back to the alley and got a gun. Then her mother walked in front of the truck and the boy shot her twice. Grace died on the way to the hospital and Adrian died immediately on scene. The suspect used an AK-47. The daughter also told detectives that the suspect had two cross tattoos on his face. When the detectives were investigating a woman approached Martinez and told him she knew everything but his name, but she did not want to talk to him in public. I think she might have been scared for her own safety. The detectives also received a tip that a man named Carter had a fight with Adrian. With this tip they looked up Carter in the system and found his record. However he didn’t have any facial tattoos but they thought the picture could have been old. They printed out Carter’s picture along with others to put them in a line up for both witnesses. The lady did not recognize any of the men in the line up. Another tip came in from a family member, saying she received information that the street name of the suspect was “Bo”. Detectives has…

Wrongful convictions happen all over the world. Wrongful convictions are defined as a conviction of a person who was factually innocent, leading them to a live in prison for a certain amount of time. Putting the wrong person in the system can ruin their life and reputation. These people can spend just a few years, a big portion of their life, or even die while incarcerated if they are on death row. The most common causes of wrongful convictions are eyewitness misidentification, improper forensic science, false confessions, government misconduct, informants/jailhouse snitches, and inadequate counseling.…
Monday, December 1st, 1997 began like any other day for the students of Heath High School in Paducah, Kentucky. Student Michael Carneal rode to school with his sister, carrying with him, what he claimed to be, an art project. As his fellow classmates gathered that morning in the lobby of the school, holding a prayer group, he fired eight rounds from a .22 caliber pistol. Out of those eight rounds he landed five head shots and three upper torso shots, killing three teenagers. Not only did he land all eight shots, but the shots were so precise that elite military and law enforcement agencies were stunned by his expertise. The fact that he had never fired a real gun in his life was something that disturbed authorities even more. Nowhere in the records of military or law enforcement history could the “equivalent” achievement be found. So what was it that made this young man so violent and deadly at such a young age? ("The shooting," 2010, para. 1)…

he man sat stoically at one end of the table, carefully crafting his replies to the FBI agent’s inquiries. He wasn’t considered a major suspect in the murder case. His alibi was believable and he sounded sincere, but the agent pressed on nevertheless. With the suspect’s consent, he was asked a series of questions about the murder weapon: “If you had committed this crime, would you have used a gun?” “If you had committed this crime, would you have used a knife?” “If you had committed this crime, would you have used an ice pick?” “If you had committed this crime, would you have used a hammer?” One of the weapons, the ice pick, had actually been used in the commission of the crime, but that information had been kept from the public. Thus, only the killer would know which object was the real…
