Abstract
The objective of this thesis was to evaluate the operation of the logistics department of Shun
Yue Cement Company Limited, China. The company is a middle-size company specializing in the sales and transportation of cement. However, the rapid development in the various areas of the logistics industry poses great challenges to the company.

The theoretical framework of the study consists of two major theories: business SW OT analysis and logistics process. The background research was conducted by means of both quantitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative method included a face -to-face interview with the supervisor of the logistics department and several interviews with the company’s customers. The quantitative analysis was carried out by means of questionnaires which were sent to the employees of the company.

The results of the study show that there are many important objectives for development in the areas like marketing, information system, customer service of Shun Yue Cement
Company Limited. Based on the results, the company should focus on its operations in these areas to face the challenges of logistics industry in the future.
