My Management role
Tashawn Cannon

I view my management role as Lead teacher to help facilitate in the growth and development of potential future school leaders. I feel that there is a great sense of urgency to obtain educators that possess strong sense of qualities to help prepare students for the twenty first century. The development of individuals that are strong practitioners are vital in the educational success for our students. The lack of individuals that are not equipped to enter the role of management is a deficiency that our children can’t afford. My role as lead teacher help to empower another individual that can help our students succeed.

As a current school leader, many of my strengths include strong organizational skills, effective use of budgetary resources, and able to execute the overall mission of my unique school. I believe the critical areas in management that I would work on are:

1. The importance of rules, roles and responsibility. I believe rules, roles, and responsibility is the foundation for the overall day to day operations to run smoothly and efficiently.

2. The importance of teacher support and feedback. I believe teacher support and feedback are important to help create an environment where students can make progress

3. Effective use of budgetary resources. I feel that the effective use of budgetary resources is so critical in today’s economics due to the lack of funding across the school system. In today’s fast paced society where things are constantly changing, the focus has to remain on the quality of instruction for my school.
Management is probably the most common cause for educators becoming frustrated and turning to a new field of endeavor. It is also accounts for second, third and fourth-year educators leaving education. Classroom management is perhaps the least significant role of the teacher but it is the role that allows teachers to teach. My role as Lead teacher is to practice and promote classroom

    As a young teacher I often think that teacher leadership simply meant senior teachers with years of service working with the principal to bring back new teaching styles or policies to us the lesser staff members. The authors states that teacher leadership can emerge from any teacher within the school community.
