Technology In Professional Football

The NFL (National Football League) uses many forms of technology. You may not realize it but they actually have a lot of technology in there everyday games. For example they use headphones to communicate and they use a scoreboard to keep track of the score and to know how much time is left in the game. They also use tablets to make up plays. As you can see there are multiple sources of technology and more that I haven’t even mentioned. Right now, I will only talk about one of these pieces of technology. That one piece of technology will be the earpiece that quarterbacks and coaches use to communicate with each other. In the NFL, both the quarterback and the head coach have an earpiece and a speaker. For example, there is a scoreboard and also a speaker system so that all the fans can hear news about the game. The scoreboard is used to keep track of the score that the two teams have. The scoreboard also tells how much time is left in the quarter. You can also use the scoreboard to see what quarter the game is in and how many timeouts each team has left. The JUMBATRON is also a piece of technology. The JUMBATRON is used to see a closer view of the field. The closer view is for the fans that are not close to the field or are very high up in the stands. Also, last but not least, the communication system between the coach and the quarterback. There are many purposes for the communication system like sending out plays and saving time. With the communication system, quarterbacks don’t have to run back and fourth between the sideline and the huddle. This saves time and energy for the quarterback. All the pieces of technology used in the NFL are important but in my opinion, the communication system between the coaches and quarterback is the most
