The Great Gatsby Picture Analysis

This picture describes many parts about Gatsby, it has Gatsby and Daisy stare into each other's eyes in a moment of reconnection and a reignited spark of their long lost love.In the picture it shows the many flowers that he had bought for Daisy, he is wearing a white suit with a gold tie and silver shirt and the scene gives off a feeling of being dreamy. All of these things hold meaning. In the book Gatsby had stated that he was intent on running away with her to get married ; “They were to go back to Louisville and be married from her house-just as if it were five years ago. And she doesn't understand.” P.109. He wanted to relive the past that he had planned with her, but Nick had told him “You can't repeat the past.” P.110. Gatsby further went on to say “Can't repeat the past? Why of course you can.” P.110. This shows he is living in the life he had five years ago, which right now is only a dream, a sort of fantasy he is holding to. It gives off a sad feeling for him, sad that he can't let go and won't move on.
He spends a reasonable of money to win her heart back with all the parties and unnecessary amount of flowers he bought as shown in the picture, maybe trying to show he has a lot of money and he is ready to use it for her to its extent. He wears a shirt that is silver and a gold tie which could also bear the meaning of having a reasonable amount of money at his disposal. And the picture has Gatsby and Daisy sitting down on a chair, staring at each other ,holding hands and that could show the dream he still lives and believes in.
