The differences are subtle, but they are all there. One difference between the two are the order of events. Certain scenes, such as Paul and Albert's injuries, the French girls and Paul's leave, are all done in different orders in both the movie and book. In the book, the scenes play out like this; first the boys meet the French girls, then Paul has his leave and then finally Paul and Albert get injured However, in the movie the events play out as so; The boys meet the French girls (n this particular sequence of events meeting the French girls happens first, however, in the movie that scene is shown later then in the book), then Paul and Albert get injured, and then finally Paul has his leave. This difference is very trivial as it doesn't change anything significantly, however it is a pretty striking…
After I read the book and watched the movie The Watsons Go to Birmingham, I noticed there were some obvious major differences between the two. Three of the major differences I noticed include the diner discussion with the white employees, the absence of the character Rufus, and their cousins talking about school integration. These differences played a major part in how the story was told.…
characters were taken out, others were combined. In the book Andy is made out to be a short man but in the movie Andy is Tall. Red also was changed from being Irish to an African…
The book The Outsiders was written by S. E. Hinton, and published in 1967. The Outsiders movie was then released in 1983 and was directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The story is about a group of 7 greasers set in the 1960’s. Basically the greasers are in constant rival with the socs, the upper class kids from the west side. Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade are the youngest in the group. They go threw some very difficult times after Johnny kills a soc, then dies. Ponyboy must learn how to cope with all that has happened.Together they makes up one of the gangs of greasers that live on the East side of town. Both the book and the movie have some differences, but they are very similar.…
Ever read a book, and then seen the movie? The book is usually better right? That’s most likely because of the differences. The book is more descriptive most of the time. Events in the book are missing from the movie. Or the movie adds some in.…
Along with the movie showing the relationships more, the book gives you a broader view of everything. In the book, the black community is…
Randy Newman’s song “Strange Things” relates to the Novel The Outsiders that friends and family will support you . It was about Woody from Toy Story and how he starts losing his friends because Andy one of the characters takes all the toys except for Woody and it shows that he started losing his friends because he hasn’t seen them in a long time.In The Outsiders , Ponyboy a greaser had lost Johnny and Dally because Johnny and Dally were both killed . Eventually, Randy a Soc also loses a friend Bob the most spoiled soc .Ponyboy had already known how it feels to lose someone because he had lost his parents in a car accident and now he had lost two of his friends.…
LeAlan And Lloyd are best friends and reporters but they start to split since LeAlan graduated and Lloyd failed 12th grade and didn’t go to graduation with LeAlan. Also the book didn’t write about the principle thinking that LeAlan and Lloyd was saying all these bad things about the hood that was not true. The reason why I think that there are so many differences in the book and movie is because LeAlan grandmother was singing her favorite song in the movie and the book never said that she was singing her favorite song. I like the movie better because it shows more things that never happened in the book. I like the book a little bit because it shows more things that never happened in the movie. The book and movie versions of Our America have many differences such as the movie shows and tells that Duane got shot and the book never said that Duane got shot.…
The Outsiders is both a great book and a great movie. Although they are both very great, they are not completely the same, or completely different. A book that turns into a movie usually has way more information because the person writing the book isn’t just going to make it a movie line for line. The movie “The Outsiders” doesn’t work like that though. The book and the movie are about as close to line for line as you can possibly get. They have to add some scenes in movie to explain the thinking of the characters, but they also have to subtract scenes from the book to shorten the movie. The book, The Outsiders, and the movie, “The Outsiders,” are alike in many ways.…
The book a streetcar named desire is about a girl called Blanche Dubois, she’s a very depressing girl because she caught her husband cheating with another man in the 1980’s. But, there’s many element that are many difference between the book and the movie. First of all, the first difference that was really easy to see was the way the paper boy was acting toward Blanche. In the book, when Blanche was trying to flirt with him he wasn’t really into her, he was scared and shocked and he backed off but in the movie he was really into her…
Some actors acted and appeared entirely different in the movie than the book. The directing and special effects were okay in some scenes, but half-baked and lousy in others. Furthermore, the characters are developed far less in the film and many semi-important scenes in the novel are excluded in the film. Do not watch this movie unless you have read the novel (or even if you have read it). If you haven’t read the book and decide to watch the movie instead, you will fail to understand the complicated relationships between each character and between the Socs and Greasers and just think the movie is substandard and all aspects of the movie lacked in action, emotion, or just seemed like they were not well thought out. A 3.5/10 may seem harsh, but I was not pleased. Just go read the book instead. It had the potential to be a great film, but severely missed the…
Both the book and the movie are very different, they have lots of similarities and differences. The Setting, Plot and Characterisation are three parts that the book and movie can be compared.…
The Outsiders book by S.E Hinton was eventually made into a movie. They were so much alike because they both were very good from the start. Some things that happened in the book, although they didn’t happen in the movie. You could really tell in both the book and movie the friendship and love with some people.…
There are also some minor changes in the script of the movie that are different than the novel. Such thing include some scene like when Schmendrick was invited to dinner by the mayor of the town he was visiting; where Cullys’ outlaws came in and took him. This was different in the movie; the whole scene was cut out and shortened. In the movie the outlaws were traveling through the forest and saw Schmendrick and grabbed him up to bring to Cully. This…
There are many ways in which both the novel and film can relate to one another but then have its own unique differences…
