Types of Transitions Children May Experience
Transitions are changes in a person's appearance, activity status, roles and relationships as well as changes of setting. These takes part in our life and taking us from one stage to another for example from home environment to school one : from nursay to primary, primary to secondary ... , from education to work, from being single to being married etc. The most inportant transitions happen when we are babies and young children and they are essential part of growing up in our life.
3.1 Identify the transitions experienced by most children and young people.
The progression from childhood trough adolescene to adulthood necessarily involves change. All children and young people will experience some changes in their daily lives as mentioned before part of growing up. Some changes can be foreseen or even planned. These transitions are:
- birth itself
- from milk to solids
- from crawling to walking
- from being feed to feeding ourselfs
- from nappies to being trained
- from self aware to mind reading and recognizing somebody else needs
- from playing alongside to play with another children
- from one school / class to another
- moving away
- friends moving away
- leaving friends
- puberty
- developing new skills

3.2 Identify transitions that only some children and young people may experienced.

Transitions may also involve other significant changes in the child's life which may be unforseen or only happend to individuals. These changes involves personal or particular transitions such as:

- death
- serious illness of a family member or close friend
- violence/abuse
- parental seperation or divorce
- moving house
-accident
- going into
