Rationale: Here in New York we have the privilege of having all four seasons, (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall). As these seasons approach, our type of clothing changes along with it. For this activity, the class will match clothing to the season. Read the book “Froggy Gets Dressed by Jonathan London”.…

I want to attend colloege to study business. Growing up, all the successful men I saw were businessmen. I want to own my own business in order to make a lot of money. I think the most important people in a business are the managers. They help run the business on a daily basis. These are my goals, and the first step in reaching them is college.…
Summer is warmer than winter in Ohio for a few reasons. Summer is warmer than winter in Ohio because the Sun's rays hit the Earth at a more direct angle during summer than during winter as the northern hemisphere is tilted in such a manner that this happens. Earth's axis shifts throughout the year and whichever hemisphere is tilted more in the direct angle of the sun experiences summer while the other hemisphere experiences winter. Another reason is that because the days are much longer than the nights during the summer. This helps with the average temperature being higher in the summer than it is in the winter. These are the main two reasons that the average temperature in summer is much warmer than the temperature is in winter in Ohio.…
As for the summer time, the roads are mush easier to drive. You're car can hold to the road much better and you won't spin out of control because there is not any frozen precipitation.…
Winter and summer driving both have their pros and cons but are also similar at the same time. No matter what season it is, you still need to be cautious when behind the wheel. It takes a lot of concentration when driving and understanding that the vehicle is a machine that can be very dangerous. Always be alert to pedestrians, other drivers and traffic. Also, good maintenance of your vehicle is important because both seasons can affect the vehicle and it's parts causing minor and/or severe maintenance issues.…
Although living in Florida all my life and never witnessing snow before, I traveled to many other states and countries, experiencing their environment and cultures. Yet, I traveled to all those places during the summer, which limited me to only understanding temperatures above 50 degrees Fahrenheit.…
How can someone be claimed as insane? In the case of Andrea Yates, she was found not guilty by reasons of insanity. Clearly Andrea Yates was insane because of what she did. Andrea Yates murdered her five children. Andrea Yates has thought about killing her children for quite a while before she really did kill her children. Her husband Rusty Yates knew about his wife trying to kill their children and caught Andrea before she did it the first time. Andrea Yates attempted to kill her kids before and she didn’t kill them in earlier attempts because she didn’t think she was ready. I believe that Andrea Yates was insane because she has pre-planned killing her kids before and she finally did it.…
In the world of politics, one of the most important things is who you know. Knowing people will bring a politician success. Chris Matthew stressed one-on-one communication and “retail politics” in this first chapter of his book. He knows firsthand because he was in Washington for many years observing and learning. Not only is it necessary to know as many people as possible, but it is also important to make the person feel that their concerns are cared for on a personal level. Knowing people is not only important in the political world, but it is also important in the real world. The more people you know, the more opportunities will arise for you. In the book Chris Matthew talks about how many popular politicians rose to the top because they made the effort to get to know everyone, especially those who are important. This can apply to any work environment. Networking is a very important part of life. It is important for all of us to remember to treat each person with care because they will potentially be important in our lives.…
Although summer and winter both occur when the Earth is titled toward the sun, there are very different seasons. The first and most obvious difference between summer and winter is the weather. During the summertime the days are warm and sunny. Temperatures range from 70° and above with a slight breeze, making it enjoyable to be outside. Toward the end of summer people tend to worry about hurricanes and tornadoes. On the other hand, winter days are cold and dark. There is a constant freezing chill making temperatures drop below zero. Normally there are worries about serious snow storms and blizzards. Another noticeable difference between summer and winter consist of the types of activities people participate in during the two seasons. Summer activities tend to involve being outdoors. For example people enjoy trips to the beach, family cookouts, swimming and even long walks. The sounds of kids riding their bikes and fireworks crackling can be heard throughout the days. However, in the winter people occasionally enjoy outdoors activities like sledding, ice skating and snowboarding. Generally during the winter though, people spend most of their time participating in indoor activities like watching movies, readings books, and baking sweets. For the reason that climates are drastically different during the summer and winter, these is also a huge difference in the way a person is dressed. During the summer people dress lightly, wearing simple t-shirts, shorts, flip-flops, and bathing suits. Hats are typically worn to keep the sun out of people's faces. Since the temperatures are high there is no need for any extra clothing or layering. Unlike while in the winter time multiple layers are worn to keep warm. People dress in heavy sweaters, long pants, thick coats, and boots. Hats are also worn during the winter, but not to block the sun but instead to keep the heat in. Last but…
In the cold season those who were able to afford, or had access too, sheepskin cloaks, wool hats, and mittens wore them for protection from the cold.(Aaron Nimocks)2Those who had these items, but were of lower class would often sleep in them to keep warm. During the wet season they would cover their boots with wooden patens as a form of waterproofing them to keep their feet dry.(Annenberg Learner)3 During summer they would wear the normal daily outfit.…
It is also discussed that in the summer there is easier way of living, “The summer, in some climates, makes possible to man a sort of Elysian life. Fuel, expect to cook his food, is then unnecessary; the sun is his fire, and many of the fruits are sufficiently cooked by its rays; while Food generally is more various and more easily obtained, and Clothing and Shelter are wholly or half unnecessary” (Thoreau 1418). In this quote he is explaining a way for us to get in touch with nature is to use the privileges of the sun during the hot…
These four season are what their lives revolved around. In spring, the earth softened, warmed, and fertile dirt was ready to receive seeds. In the summer, berries became available during the extremely long stretches of dry and hot weather. In autumn, trees foliage changed to beautiful colors including red, yellow, and orange. Air was a bit more chilled and windy during this season. In the winter, snow fell over the land, freezing the lakes. The cycle of the seasons was clearly defined (Bial, 1999).…
In autumn, the leaves begin to gradually shift from greens to bright oranges, yellows, and reds. The air gets chilly, forcing people to bring out their warm, fleecy coats, as winter is just around the bend. The air is fresh and also mixed with the smell of corn and beans as farmers bring out their rumbling combines and lazy tractors and begin the harvest. Autumn is a beautiful season.…
There are four seasons in the year. Each of them brings different weather and different dresses. When it is hot people wear T-shirts and shorts, light blouses and skirts, sport shoes, socks and sandals. In summer people dress like this in Africa, Russia, Canada, Ireland, Great Britain and America. In cold weather people usually put on warm clothes: jeans and trousers, sweaters and jackets, overcoats and caps. In winter they wear fur coats and fur caps, high boots and mittens or gloves. The proverb says: there is no bad weather, there are bad clothes. Another proverb says: everything is good in its season. When you think what to wear, choose the right dress. Think what is good at the sports ground and what is good at the party and why a long dress looks beautiful on a woman but is funny on a little girl. When you buy clothes, try them on, make sure that they are your size, that they suit you well and that you like their colour.…
