yo this is a good essay
Kids! What can you say about them? You can’t live with them sometimes and you can’t kill them. Sometimes they do the most irresponsible things. Sometimes their actions leave you shaking your head in disbelief. Such is the story of Jakadrien Turner. Jakadrien’s parents divorced. That can be traumatic for a kid. I get that. Jakadrien decided to run away from home. Well, unfortunately many 14 year old kids think that they know better than their parents. Sometimes, without the knowledge about how to deal with issues, they do asinine things like run away from home. I get that. What I don’t get is what happened next. Jackadrien was caught stealing. I can understand not wanting to get into trouble. However, she decided to give police a false name. Can you say big MISTAKE! Unfortunately for her, that name happened to be the name of a woman in this country illegally who also had warrants out for her arrest. If it were me, I would have come clean, told cops I lied because I had run away from home, had them call my parents and went on with life. However, that is not what happened. Jakadrien ended up being deported! That is correct - Immigration and Naturalization got her butt out of this country faster than you can say Rio Grande! She was sent to Colombia, where she, not speaking a lick of Spanish, ended up being forced to clean homes. I bet running away didn’t look like such a good idea after that. Her grandmother managed to track her down through the Internet. Now Colombian officials are holding her in a detention center until she can be sent back to the US. 1.There are a few morals to this story. 2.Don’t run away from home. Usually, there are worse things out there that are waiting for you. Get help if you need it, but don’t run away. 3.Don’t lie to the police! It can get you deported.

Imagine being thirteen years old, living “the dream” and enjoying your life until your father says, “pack up we are moving to a different country.” Any person would be in shock after hearing someone say that to them against their will, let alone a teenage girl. Gloria Aguilar was told this by her father in the year 1962 that she would be moving to the United States of America from Jalisco, Mexico. She was living a very luxurious, middle class lifestyle with all her family. She had lots of friends and family who loved her. She lived in a fairly nice house and went to a good school. Gloria’s father had obtained a workers permit to work the fields for himself, Gloria, and her older brother. Gloria, her brother, and her father came by car across the border traveling for seven days. When Gloria Aguilar left Jalisco, Mexico in 1962 at the age of thirteen, she was leaving behind a great life, family, and friends. Her expectations were to find “The American Dream” of a better education, become better off financially, and for her experience to be “like heaven”. Freud believes that it is part of everyone’s personality to seek pleasure through violence; it is part of the “ID.” However, the ego negotiates between the ID and superego, meaning the majority of people can regulate between the morals of society and their own pleasures. I agree with this, as does Sara Shepard, the author of “Pretty Little Liars.” I believe that people who seek pleasure through violence are ill minded, and have psychological issues, due to the fact that the ego should be able to tell the brain to follow the morals of society. ‘A,’ a character from Pretty Little Liars, nobody can solve the mystery regarding who exactly ‘A’ is, however they are ill-minded, and seek pleasure in harming others as a joke. Ill-minded people like this are evil.…

Along with being a teenager comes many hardships that vary from person to person. Different people choose to deal with their issues in different ways; unfortunately, some teens choose to leave their homes in hopes that the situation will get better. It has been shown that each year, nearly 1.7 million children and teenagers run away from home or are forced out by their parents (Maccio). “Substantial research shows that runaway and homeless youth are running away from a family situation characterized by poor parenting practices, violence, neglect, and sexual abuse” (Slesnick and Pretopnik). Adolescents may experience various scenarios that will cause him or her to run away. Some may run away to try and free themselves of their day-to-day lives or torments that they may face. Some may want to escape the struggles and hardships of life. Some may even leave because they feel neglected or unwanted by the ones they care about the most. Although these experiences may happen during adolescence, there are preventive measures that can be taken to keep kids from leaving home.…
