A Memorable Moment

The day started off as any other normal day but I would soon find out that this day was different. Like any other teenager I loved going out with my friends and so like any other Friday evening I was going out with my friends. I was going to go to my friend’s house to pick him up and we were then going to get something to eat. I got to his house picked him up and we left to go get something to eat. We were halfway there when I got a phone call from one of my other friends that he wanted to come along too and so I turned the car around still on the phone and stopped at a red light. As soon as I came to a full stop two men on a motorcycle stopped in front of my car and one of the men had a gun in his hand. The man with the gun ran up to my slightly cracked window and yelled “Open the f’n window.” At this point I didn’t fully understand what was going on so I closed my window. The man then pointed the gun at me and started screaming, “open the window or I’ll f’n shoot you.” I then rolled down the window and as soon as I did he snatched the phone out of my hands and looked at my friend and yelled, “you too bitch, give me your f’n phone.” My friend then gave him the phone without hesitating. After he put the phones away in his huge jacket he yelled, “get out of the f’n car right now.”I immediately hopped out of the car and he grabbed me and started padding me down, he took me wallet and all the loose cash I was carrying. He did the exact same thing to my friend and took his wallet as well. He then hopped into the driver seat and honked at his buddy to move and they conveniently drove away in my car. My friend and I were left there at the intersection with all the cars just stopped and staring at us and we were just so traumatized that we didn’t even move for about a minute. When we realized what had just happened we walked over to the nearest store and asked them if we could use their phone. I knew that there was no point in calling the police right now because the legal system over there isn’t as solid as the US’s. So I called my mom and she picked us up, we told her what happened and she was just glad we were ok. We eventually filed a police reported that same night and after a week they told us they found the car about a hundred and fifty kilometers from where it got stolen, but the carjackers had taken everything out of the car; they left the car sitting on bricks. My friend and I still talk about that incident till this day and the weird thing is we find it kind of funny. We make fun of how scared we were and how everyone at the intersection just stopped their cars and were just watching the whole incident. It is something I will definitely remember for the rest of my life.

His head was bleeding lots and he got out of his car and chugged a beer before the police had arrived. The suburban was totaled but luckily none of us were hurt. It was a blessing in disguise that my Dad had a bad headache that day. He was on his way home from work early and was only a mile away from the scene when my Mom called him. A mole is just another common mark on the body, which everyone has, so what’s the big deal, right? Well, some are just common markings, while others can be life threatening. My family learned this all too well back in February of 2014. It’s never a perfect visit to the dermatologist when you get a mole removed from your head, only to find out after testing that it was positive for melanoma. I remember a minor surgery was performed on the neck and two lymph nodes were removed to be tested. Great news everybody, they were found to be cancer free! Now, stop and think how many lymph nodes are in your body.…

I finished my chores and convinced my dad to let me out. I got into my Jetta and drove from Highland Park to Glendale. During my commute, I knew or at least thought nothing could stop me. I was on a roll, I was about to go chill with my friends and go looking for girls. It was a win-win situation. As I approached a stop sign on Palmer St. it hit me. There he was, a Los Angeles County Sheriff. I knew in my head he was looking right at me. So I tried my best to not look suspicious but I was so nervous. It was my turn to cross the intersection; it was the moment of truth. The only thing running through my mind was, hoping that I didn't get pulled over. So, I tried my best to cross the intersection by the book. I stopped behind the line, looked left-right-left, waited three seconds, and then finally made my move. I thought…

We were finally ready to leave and began walking to the car, which during the walk I remembered I needed to stop and get gas. So we headed to the gas station, filled up CoCo, which was my first vehicle, and were off to the dinner. In order to get to the dinner we had to get on the I-10 to I-110. We started off at great start on the highway. Crazily, only ten minutes into the ride we faced complications. While driving in the middle lane on I-10, an eighteen wheeler truck felt the need that it had to get over from the left lane into the middle. With the position I was in I could neither get over to my right nor to my left due to other vehicles being there. There was also a vehicle behind me. The truck began veering over to the right into my lane. I began to honk my horn and slow down as much as possible without causing the car behind me to hit me. I assumed the truck would realize by my honking of the horn it just was not the best time for him to come over into the lane I was in. Unfortunately he did not, and by the time the vehicle behind had gotten over for me to slow down even more the back of the truck hit the front of my car. The truck was lower than usual and the back hit the hood of my car sending my car spinning three times thereafter smacking into the barrier on the bridge. Initially, I was frozen in my seat thinking how fast it escalated but how slow it felt as far as spinning and hitting the…

My friends and I were out riding around trying to decide if we wanted to go to Carowinds. I was driving too fast and jerking the wheel back and forth. I lost control of the car. The car ran off the edge of the road, and I hit a ditch damaging the left side of the car. The car then spun around and the right side of the car hit the ditch. The airbags popped out and hit me in the face. After we stopped spinning I asked my friends if they were ok. Fortunately, none of us got hurt. I had to call my parents and tell them that I wrecked the car. The police came and gave me a ticket and showed me at fault in the wreck. The wrecker picked up the car and took it to the body shop. The insurance adjuster looked at the car and said it was totaled. I had to wait a long time before my parents would even consider getting me another car. I had to go back to waiting for someone to pick me or asking somebody else for a ride. Although wrecking my car will always be an unpleasant memory of my first car, it taught me a valuable lesson about driving safely.…

It was a hammer. I got the sudden boost of energy and started to wiggle my hands tied up by the rope. It started to burn and then I could feel wetness trailing up my arm which meant blood. It hurt a lot but I'd rather be bleeding than dead. Which is about to happen soon if I don't hurry up. I grabbed the rope and pulled hard with my teeth and I finally broke free. I laid there thinking for a moment and then I grabbed the hammer and started to hit where the tail lights were. Soon enough the tail light popped out and I started waving my hands around like crazy. I made sure I was waving my hand downward so he couldn't see in his side or rear view mirrors. But still no luck. I started to search the rest of the trunk now that my hands were free. I found a bucket of paint not knowing what color it was and popping off of the lid with the other side of the hammer. I slowly started to pour it out. Leaving a trail of paint along the road. All of a sudden I dropped the paint bucket and it started to spill everywhere leaving me barely breathing. I put my head out the small hole gasping for air and then laying back down holding my breath. The person that was driving slammed on the brakes, cursed and got out. He found out about the paint. He saw the paint on the…
